partners with P.T. Barnum. Together they would buy up smaller
circus,s. Hachaliad Bailey was also the source of the name
" BAILEY's CROSS ROADS" In Virginia. The crossroads had for many years was the winterhome of the Barnum And Bailey Circus. When Hachaliah died about 1848 he deeded all hus Fairfax County Virginia property to his daugher-in-law, Mariah Bailey, Lewis's wife.
Hachaliah is remembered as the" Father of the American Circus."
