** There are a lot of Bushong/Beshong in Nova Scotia in the 1800's. They are listed as of French descent and Roman Catholic. Since the Colononial America Immigrant Boschung/Bushong were Protestants fleeing Catholic persecution, it is hard to believe these Canadian Bushong are of the same line. .
*** There were many widows in Nova Scotia, as being a fisherman was an extremely dangerous job.
**** There are Beshongs living during the 1800's in Nova Scotia, but it is not known if fhey are Bushong witha different spelling. They live in a different area.
???? The question is are these Bushong a different line from France or Loyalist refugees. Siege of Port Royal (1710)

Queen Anne's War
The Siege of Port Royal (5 – 13 October 1710),[4] also known as the Conquest of Acadia, was conducted by British regular and provincial forces under the command of Francis Nicholson against a French Acadian garrison under the command of Daniel d'Auger de Subercase, at the Acadian capital, Port Royal. The successful British siege marked the beginning of permanent British control over the peninsular portion of Acadia, which they renamed Nova Scotia, and it was the first time the British took and held a French colonial possession.[5] After the French surrender, the British occupied the fort in the capital with all the pomp and ceremony of having captured one of the great fortresses of Europe,[6] and renamed it Annapolis Royal.
The siege was the third British attempt during Queen Anne's War to capture the Acadian capital, and it had profound consequences over the next 50 years. The conquest was a key element in the framing of the North American issues in French-British treaty negotiations of 1711–1713. It resulted in the creation of a new colony—Nova Scotia—and introduced significant questions concerning the fate of both the Acadians and the Mi'kmaq[7] who continued to occupy Acadia.[8]. Biography
Étienne Bégin was born in East Tracadie, Nova Scotia about 1791. He was the son of Charles Bégin and Marie Josèphe Benoit.
Étienne married Judith Petitpas in East Tracadie on October 20, 1817. They had ten children including Edouard b. 1819; Marie-Angelique (aka Jane) b. 1821; Simon b. 1823; Appoline (aka Pauline) b. abt. 1825; Pascal b. 1827; Anne b. 1829; Elizabeth b. 1830; Valentin b. 1832; Toussaint b. 1834; and Desire.
The exact date and location of Étienne's death are unknown; however, it can be said that Étienne passed away after the 1851 Canada Census in which he is enumerated as being age 60.
