Born 4/19/1954 in Panama City, FL and died 10/21/2008 in Marysville, WA at the age
of 54. He is survived by his Life Partner, Julie Oliver of Marysville, WA and his children:
Colette (Jeremy) Jordan, of Rincon, GA; Donal (Shallyn) Bushong of Richmond Hill, GA;
Antoinette Oliver of Marysville, WA; Patrick (Juanita) Oliver of Yakima, WA; and
Nichole (Raphael) Collins of Ft. Campbell, KY. Also survived by nine grandchildren; his
parents Don and Gun (stepmother) Bushong of Nampa, ID; five sisters; his former wife
Nuala O'Kane (Mama to Colette and Donal) and his dog Lilymae. He was preceded in
death by his mother Frances Bushong. Don moved to the Seattle area 17 years ago
from Savannah, GA. He was proud of his work as a Title Examiner and his time served
in the US Army. Don was a strong, proud man with a sometimes gruff exterior, but a
good and tender heart. He fought hard to the very end, always believing that he would
win and get better. He never gave up because he wanted more time and he needed to
be here for his family. He still had things to do. He loved his "Woman/Darlin", his
"Girls/Little Darlins", his "Boys", his "Grandbabies", his home, the outdoors, the
Northwest, hard work, harder play, music and a evening at Hank's. The family would
like to thank Phil of the UWMC and Sherrie and Mike of Hospice of Snohomish County
for their compassion and efforts in our most difficult time. Donations may be made to
Hospice of Snohomish County (our angels) or the SCCA/UWMC. A private family
gathering was held at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville, WA.
