an, and is dead; Christian, deceased, who married
Susan Lefever; Joseph; Leah and Elizabeth, who
are both unmarried and live in East Lampeter town-
ship; John, who is retired, and has his home in
Mechanicsburg, Cumberland Co., Pa. ; Catherine,
who is single, and has her home with her sisters.

The paternal grandfather of Joseph was Chris-
tian Zook, a resident of Lancaster county; his
maternal grandparents, the Hostetters, were of
Swiss extraction.

Joseph Zook was married in October, 1847, to
Miss Frances Diffenbach, in Lancaster, Pa. To this
union has come only one child, Amanda, who is the
wife of J. K. Eaby, a prosperous merchant and
postmaster at Intercourse, Pa.

Jacob Brubaker, a native of Lancaster county, and well known years ago in this comunity, died at his residence in Waseca, Waseca Co., Minn., on Monday evening, at the advanced age of nearly 88 years. The deceased removed from near David Bear's Hotel in West Earl township, to Minnesota about thirty years ago and engaged in farming until advancing age compelled him to retire. The deceased was twice married, his first wife having been Rachel Curry who was a sister of the first wife of the late John Mentzer, deceased, of this place. His second wife was a daughter of the late Jacob Bushong and a sister of John Bushong, grain dealer, in Lancaster, and of Mrs. Jacob Esbenshade, of Earl Township. Four children of he first wife--two sons and two daughters--and his second wife survive him. His first wife and an only child of his second wife are buried in the Reformed cemetery in this place, and it had been his request that his remains should be brought here for burial. The long journey was begun on Monday night, one of his sons accompanying the remians, and on Thursday evening the remains reached Lancaster and were placed in the vault in Lancaster cemetery. The funeral will be held this morning, to leave Lancaster about half-past seven o'clock and arrive here about ten o'clock, when the services will be held in the Reformed church, of which the deceased had been a member and an officer when he resided here.
