After his father's return to Scythia, Niul continued sometime teachingthe language and other laudable sciences, until upon the report of hisgreat learning,
he was invited to Egypt by the Pharaoh, who gave him the land of Campus Cyrunt near the Red Sea to inhabit, and also his daughter Scota inmarriage,
from whom their posterity are ever since called "Scots."
Niul employed Ehor's son Gaodhal (Gael), a learned and skillful man, torefine
and adorn the language, called Bearie Tobbai, which was common to Niul's
posterity and afterward called "Gaodhilg" (or Gaelic). In honor ofGaodhal, Niul
named his oldest son Gaodhal.

It hasbeen said that Phoeniusa Farsaidhwas the inventor of letters, and after him, his descendants were called"Phoenecians."
