Sarah Ann Flood was born on 27 October 1838 in Buckingham County, Virginia. She and George Vinston Rush were married on 28 October 1856 in Buckingham County, Virginia. She died on 19 March 1863, at age 24.

Sarah Jane Taylor was born on 23 May 1833 in Powhatan County, Virginia. She and George Vinston Rush were married between 1865 and 1867. She died on 6 March 1913, at age 79, in Albemarle County, Virginia.

Ann Elizabeth Webb was born on 6 October 1842 in Prince Edward County, Virginia. She and John Sidney Rush were married on 15 March 1859 in Buckingham County, Virginia. She died on 18 September 1883, at age 40, in Buckingham County, Virginia.

John Henry Bagby was born on 25 January 1835 in Buckingham County, Virginia. He and Mary Jane Rush were married on 14 October 1857 in Buckingham County, Virginia. He died on 26 October 1916, at age 81, in Appomattox County, Virginia.

Florence Rush was born in 1845. She died.

Hugh Morton Cumby was born on 29 October 1922 in Charlotte County, Virginia. He died on 20 April 2004, at age 81, in Lynchburg City, Virginia- Lynchburg General Hospital.

Samuel Drummond Cole was born on 28 September 1951 in Richmond, Virginia. He died on 10 June 1981, at age 29, in Richmond, Virginia.

Stephen George Gray Sr. was born in 1765 in Virginia. He and Elizabeth Rush were married on 24 May 1810 in South Carolina. He died on 22 November 1835, at age ~70, in Franklin, Macon County, North Carolina.

Anna Margreta Rush was born on 15 January 1791 in McGaheysville, Rockingham County, Virginia. She and Jonathan Rush were married in 1810. She died on 5 August 1852, at age 61, in Telford, Washington County, Tennessee.

John Sellers was born on 10 November 1796 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. He and Mary Julianna ("Polly") Rush were married on 2 December 1818 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. He died on 14 May 1857, at age 60, in Macon County, North Carolina. He was buried in Rush Cemetery, Macon County, North Carolina.

The Sellers Family of Lincoln and Cleveland Counties, NC

Philip Heinrich Söllers (1698?-1769) was descended from a family of butchers in Germany. He came to Philadelphia on board the ship the James Goodwill in 1728. Travelling with him were his wife and at least one small son, Philip (1724-17??). They settled near Telford, PA. According to the DAR, Philip was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He had many children; the two eldest were George and John.

George Sellers (1756-1839) and his brother John migrated to North Carolina during the 1790s. They settled in what was then Lincoln County and became farmers. John seems to have had no children (he left his property to his nephews), but George and his wife Susanna Best had several, including a son also named George who has been the source of some confusion. For a long time we believed we were descended from the George Sellers who married Anna Mary Froneberger, but in actuality
that George had only one son, Philip. He died not long after the birth of Philip. We are really descended from John Sellers (17??-before 1850?) the son of the elder George and brother-in-law to Anna Mary.

Not much is known about John Sellers. He appears in the 1820 and 1830 censuses, but not in 1840 and his wife Mary Rush (1800-after 1850) is listed as the head of the household in 1850. Living with her are several of her sons, including Eli (1819-1902). Eli did not marry until after the Civil War, in which he participated briefly. He was discharged due to rheumatism after about half a year
- not surprising when you realize he was 45 when he enlisted. He married Martha Lackey
(1844-1910) in 1868. She was 24 and he was 49.

Their son Thomas had a large family: thirteen children over a period of 27 years. Below is a picture of a family reunion from 1933.

Zebulon J. Thomas was born on 12 May 1795 in Iredell County, North Carolina. He and Lydia Rush were married on 7 November 1818 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. He died on 5 October 1867, at age 72, in Macon County, North Carolina.

Isaac Mauney was born in 1793 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. He and Sarah Sallie Rush were married on 29 September 1814 in Lincolnton, Lincoln County, North Carolina. He died in 1874, at age ~81, in Cherokee County, North Carolina.

Jane Anderson was born on 27 January 1796. She died on 8 September 1838, at age 42, in Bourbon County, Kentucky.

Martha M. Camp was born on 24 June 1798 in South Carolina. She and John Rush were married on 26 November 1822 in Jackson County, Georgia. She died on 7 April 1872, at age 73, in Floyd County, Georgia.

Clarissa Shuford was born on 30 March 1799 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. She and Jacob Rush were married on 3 January 1825 in Lincolnton, Lincoln County, North Carolina. She died in 1890, at age ~91.

Lonnelle Crossley was born on 27 June 1905 in Georgetown, Madison County, New York. She and Lee Howe were married on 12 August 1928 in East Bloomfield, Ontario County, New York. She died on 29 April 1997, at age 91, in Fairport, Monroe County, New York.

Florence Elizabeth Crossley was born about 1907 in New York. She died on 8 June 1976, at age ~69.
