Mary Beatrice "Bee" (Gilliland) Green, 94 year old beautiful lady, of Arkansas City, went peacefully to be with her Lord at the home of her grandson on October 15, 2010, surrounded by family.
Celebration of Life services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (October 19, 2010) at the Central Christian Church of Arkansas City. Private interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Cremation has been effected.
Bee was born August 13, 1916, to Robert and Angelia (Carr) Gilliland in Purcell, Missouri. As a child, her family moved to El Dorado, Kansas. She graduated from El Dorado High School. On December 25, 1939, she married Joseph Dale Green in El Dorado. Along with her parents Bee and Joe owned Gilliland and Green Grocery before moving to Picher, Oklahoma. Later, they moved to Arkansas City where Bee worked for Cessna Aircraft Company, Mauer Neuer Meats and Singer. Together, they were avid fishermen, enjoying their cabin on Grand Lake. After Joe's passing in 1972, she moved to the lake area until returning to Arkansas City. Bee was active in the KIT Club and a member of Central Christian Church where she loved the Christian Fellowship. She was also a member of the SCKMC Auxiliary and volunteered at a "Pink Lady". Bee's greatest enjoyment was spending time with family, playing cards and watching football with her grandsons.
Surviving to cherish her memories and stories are a daughter and son-in-law Ilene and Denny Barker of Newkirk, grandchildren Jeff and Sheri Green and Kim and Del Beane all of Arkansas City, Nova and Mark Campeau of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, Jerry and Janet Green of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Tamara and Robert Munn of Rolla, Kansas, Joe and Carrie Green of Grove, and Ronda Wilson; 24 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Richard Bushong; several nieces and nephews; along with many wonderful friends who will miss her dearly.
Welcoming her home to heaven are her parents, husband, sons Dale and Dick Green, grandson Bob Green, great-grandson Colt Beane, brothers Frank and Ralph Gilliland and a sister Tina "Tiny" Bushong.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the SCKMC Auxiliary or Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Arrangements are being made through the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Online condolences may be made at www.rindt-erdman.com

William Frank Gilliland, 55, of 491 Sixth St. , Norco, died yesterday in Riverside hospitol. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Imogene Gilliland, five sons, Jimmie, Stanley, Charles, Andy and Robbie - all of Norco; and one grandson. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will bee conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crestlawn Mortuary. The Norco American Legion Post will officiate at the interment at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the mortuary after 4 p.m. tomorrow.

Andrew 'Ralph' Gilliland

AUGUSTA - Andrew "Ralph" Gilliland, 95, died Nov. 20, 2005, at Lake Point Nursing Home, Augusta.

He was born Nov. 14, 1910, in Neck City, Mo., the son of Robert Charles and Anna Carr Gilliland. A resident of Augusta for two years, coming from Great Bend, he was a pumper for Amaco for 22 years, retiring in 1982.

He belonged to St. Mark Lutheran Church and to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, both in Great Bend.

On Oct. 12, 1931, he married Artie Mae Goodson. He later married Rachel Nufer on June 6, 1955. She died Oct. 28, 2004.

Survivors include: a son; three daughters; a stepson, Willard Herzberg, Chase; a sister; 18 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Great Bend, with the Rev. Adam Wutka presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, all at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Barton County Relay for Life or to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
