Dear son or sons after my most sincere compliment to you I mush inform you that I have received your friendly - bearing date March 12th AD 1839 in which I notice that you are all enjoying a fine state of health and that your domestic concerns are on fine footing, which was of great satisfaction to me but I can't so cheerfully inform you of my circumstances. I have met with an accident on the 5th of March last by getting a fall on the ice before the house by which I was brought to be helpless and continues so for about six weeks suffering and severe pain. At present I have no pain of any consequence if I don't stir much and in fact I can't stir much for I can neither stand or walk without assistance. The injury I sustained by the fall are to my right thigh and hip which must have been severly bruised, -the right arm also sustained injury, but all seems to get better and I'm hoping if it pleases providence that I will be able to be on my feet after some time.

I still continue to live on the old place at Benses (Bentz's) and in th eame hours where I havelived hertofore and have nothng to want except the use of my limbs. My grand child Catherine attends on me. David Harmon and his wife were here last week. They are as well as common. Mr. Hardman and his family I can't say anything. I was there last fall, since I have not heard of them. Uncle David Krysher and his wife were with me last Saturday night and they are well. Aunt Rawhouser was with me the week before and was well. They still continue to live on the old place. Respecting the weather I must inform you that the winter was much the same hereas you have stated it to have been there and the spring has been very wet and cold till now a few days. The weather is getting nice and warm. Grain and all kind of vegetation is far back. Grain rates here as follows - wheat 1.62 1/2 rye 10 cts., corn 50 cts., per bushel.

I will inform you that I addressed a few lines to you about 13 months ago and don't know if you re'd it or not. I have rec'd no answer till now and further I will state that two of my grandchildren are married - namely Eve to Peter Smith and Elizabeth to Josiah Binder and are all doing well. Of Bushey's people I have not heard for some time, except for George and his family and they are well.

No more at present but a compliment of an affecionate mother to her two dear and only sons.
