AGED MANFACTURER DIED FROM INJURIES
HIRAM BUSHONG, RETIRED LANCASTER BUSINESSMAN, THROWN TRAM A CAR TROLLEY.

Hiram Bushong, 77 years old, for many years a prominent leather
manufacturer, at Lancaster, Pennsylvania, died yesterday at the home of his daughter,
Mrs. Thomas J. Leder, of 1402 Tioga Street, from the effects of injuries
sustained on Saturday night, by falling from a trolley car. Mr. Bushong's home
for the past 13 years had been at 4402 Chestnut Street.
On Saturday afternoon he had been out driving with his daughter and wife.
He was on his way, with his daughter, Mrs. Leder, to spend the night at her
home, when he was thrown from a Germantown avenue trolley car at Tioga street,
just as he was alighting. The car gave a sudden jolt and he was hurled to
the street, striking his head. His daughter would have fallen also had not the
conductor caught her.
The aged man was carried unconscious to her home and Dr. F. C. Hammond
was called in, as well as Samaritian Hospital physicians, but he died at 6
o'clock yesterday morning.
Mr. Bushong carried on a successful leather manufacturing business at
Lancaster for many years and retired 13 years ago. He was born in Lancaster
county. He was a veteran of the Civil War.
His widow and six children survive him, of the latter, two sons, John D.
and Hiram T. Bushong, are street railway contractors in New York. The husband
of Mrs. Leder is auditor and controller at Cramps' Ship yard.

John McAfee was born in 1795. He and Elizabeth McGee were married on 24 March 1825 in Muskingum County, Ohio. He died on 10 January 1849, at age ~54, in. He was buried in Crooked Creek Cemetery, New Concord, Muskingum County, Ohio.
