Biography

Donald Bushong was born on 10 May 1929 in Indiana. He died on 28 June 1931, at age 2, in Indiana. He was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, Noble County, Indiana.
Bushong Donald - Leaning over the edge of a small tank at the family home four miles southeast of here, Donald, two-and-a-half-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bushong was drowned as he tried to reach a floating dish of butter. The child was taken from the water by his mother shortly after he fell in. The tank had about two and a half feet of water in it. The dish was kept in the water to keep the butter cool. Apparently the child’s liking for the food caused him to remove the cover of the dish and dig the butter out with his fingers. Indications were that he had secured some butter and that the dish floated to the far side of the tank while the child was reaching for more. Efforts at resuscitation failed. The tank is a small one beneath the framework of the windmill. The accident occurred shortly before noon. Besides the parents, three brothers, Glade, William and Bernard; two sisters, Virginia and Phyllis Jean, all at home; and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thurlow Bushong of Jefferson Twp, and Mr. and Mrs. George Bower of Green Twp, survive. Funeral at the parents’ home Tuesday. + 6-?-1931. Stone photo present
