Beulah V. (Bushong) Clock, 100, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Summit Health and Living in Summitville following a brief illness.

She was born on February 23, 1919 in Moonsville, the daughter of Albert and Loley (Fish) Bushong. Beulah graduated from Summitville High School-Class of 1938. She married Barton E. Clock on June 10, 1939 and was a devoted farm wife all of their married life. She attended the Summitville United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Summitville O.P.C. and the Help Your Neighbor Club. Beulah was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed making quilts for church auctions and her family.

J. FRANK BUSHONG DIES IN ARLINGTON
J. Frank Bushong, 60, of 1207 North Highland street, Arlington, was
stricken with a heart attack on Saturday afternoon while working with some friends
on the grounds of the Georgetown Lutheran Church, in Washington, and died
enroute to the Georgetown hospital.
A native of near Maurertown, he was born on the Bushong farm where his
parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Bushong, resided, previous to moving to
Manassas, many years ago, where the deceased was graduated from the Manassas
high school. He came to Toms Brook as a young man and was employed for many
years by the Rockdale Lime Co.
While a resident of Toms Brook, he married Miss Emma Borden, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Borden. About twenty-three years ago, Mr. Bushong and
family moved to Friendship Heights, Maryland, and 4 years later moved to their
present home in Clarendon.
For the past ten years he had been employed by the Kinghan Meat Co. in
Washington. He was a past Master of Cassia Lodge of Masons of Woodstock, and
later became affiliated with Columbia Masonic Lodge in Clarendon.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Emma Borden Bushong; two daughters, Mrs.
Virginia Fokides, of Washington, and Miss Elsie E. Bushong of Arlington, a
brother, J. L. Bushong of Manassas, and an uncle, W. A. Bushong of Harrisville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Georgetown Lutheran
Church, of which Mr. Bushong was a devoted member, with his pastors, the
Rev. Harold E. Beatty, in charge and under the direction of Columbia Masonic
Lodge of which he was a member. Burial will be in the national Memorial Park

WOODSTOCK, V.A., September 14 -- Miss Emma Crowell Borden and Mr. J.
Frank BUSHONG, both of Tom's Brook, were married at the home of the bride's
parents. Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Borden, on Wednesday afternoon. The wedding was
attended only by the families of the contracting parties and a few friends.
The Rev. L. L. Smith, of Strasburg, pastor of the Lutheran Church,
performed the ceremony. After a wedding trip to Niagara and other points, the
couple will reside in Tom's Brook, where the groom is employed by the Rockdale

Frances Virginia Bushong, 85, a truly gracious southern lady who was a
loving mother, grandmother and aunt, widow of Garland Wisman Bushong of Woodstock,
died Wednesday, December 27, 2006.

Mrs. Bushong was born December 5, 1921, in Albemarle County, daughter of the
late Judson Carey and Sarah Ladd Goodloe. She was a nursing assistant at the
Massanutten Military Academy and a homemaker.

Surviving are three sons, William Luther Bushong and wife Delores of
Woodstock, Garland Bushong and Richard W. Booze Jr. of Edinburg, Emery Goodloe
Bushong of San Francisco, California; daughter Barbara Lee and husband James of
Woodstock; two sisters, Amelia Whitacre of Gordonsville and Eula Jane Sacra of
Waynesboro; brother, Wilbur Goodloe of Gordonsville; two grandchildren, Wade
L. Bushong and wife Stephanie and their children Ian and Kyle Bushong of
Mount Jackson, and Wyatt L. Bushong of Inwood, West Virginia; and numerous nieces
and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted Saturday, December 30, at Mount Zion
Lutheran Church by Pastor Joe Fleming and Dr. Ian Chapman. Burial followed in Sunset
View Memorial Gardens.
