J. Mark Bushong, 87, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at his home in Brethren Village. Born in Columbia, Mark was the son of the late Benjamin G. and Ruth (Greider) Bushong.
Mark was a 1945 graduate of West Lampeter High School and studied agriculture at Penn State. He operated a dairy farm until retiring in 1977. From 1977-1983, Mark was a senior agricultural loan officer with the Commonwealth National Bank. He then became the Director of Planned Giving and Church Relations for Elizabethtown College from 1984-2001.
A lifelong member of the Mountville Church of the Brethren, Mark served the church in many leadership roles. One example of this was his 18 years of service on the Church of the Brethren Atlantic Northeast District Board.
Mark is survived by his wife, Martha Meck Bushong, and five children: Theodore M. Bushong, husband of Christina Bucher, of Elizabethtown; Rebecca Bushong-Taylor, wife of Joe, of Myersville, MD; Timothy Bushong, husband of Deborah, of Willow Street; Carol Lee Ritchie, wife of Thomas, of Landisville; and Steven Bushong, husband of Julie, of Lititz. He is also survived by ten grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by a grandson and sister, Doris E. Zeiders
Memorial Services for Mark will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Mountville Church of the Brethren, 60 Clay St., Mountville, PA 17554. Kindly omit flowers. Geraldine L. Bushong, 77, of 47 Village Drive, Neffsville, died Saturday at Lancaster General Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was the wife of Warren M. Bushong. They were married for 51 years in January.
Born in Irvona, Clearfield County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Genevieve McGarvey Love.
She was of the Presbyterian faith.
Mrs. Bushong was a member of Lititz Springs Chapter 499 Order of Eastern Star, and Amaranth.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Beth B., wife of George A. Abel of Lancaster, and Lori J., wife of Robert E. Pennington Jr. of Pequea; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert S. Love of Deltona, Florida and James G. Love of Richmond, Virginia.

A. Ruth Bushong, 89, formerly of Salunga died at the Brethren Village.
Ruth entered into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ, Thursday morning,
after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Lizzie
Musser. She was married to M. Galen Bushong, December 7, 1940, who preceded her
in death on October 30, 2003. She was a graduate of Hempfield High School.
A member of the Hempfield Church of the Brethren and the Willing Workers
Sunday School Class and later the Homebuilders Class; Ruth enjoyed singing the
old hymns about her Lord and Savior. She was a lifelong deacon. She
enjoyed supporting and helping her family in any way she could as a housewife and
mother. Each summer she would plant a garden in the back yard and she
enjoyed canning and freezing all the fresh produce. As a kind and sacrificing
mother she would help in preparation to deliver the daily newspapers. This
job was in the family for about 17 years. She also cleaned homes for others.
She helped knot comforts for relief work and helped for many years with
meals on wheels.

Surviving are 4 children: Jerry, married to Linda, of Columbia and Dennis,
married to Shirley, of Lancaster and Sara, of Lititz and Richard, married
to Jamie, of Manheim; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also
survive her. She was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Musser.

A memorial service will be held at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike,
Lancaster, on Monday at 10:30AM. Friends may call at Brethren Village on
Monday morning from 9:30AM until 10:30AM. Interment in Salunga Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to Hempfield Church of
the Brethren, P.O. Box 246, East Petersburg, PA 17520-0246. Arrangements by
