...Bushong was born in Clay Township. She married Robert Bushong in 1935, and then lived on a large dairy farm in western Lancaster County.
Her husband died in 1983, after 48 years of marriage, and today Bushong has five children, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
For years she was "a busy farm wife, keeping a large vegetable garden and canning and freezing vegetables and fruits" while being an excellent baker, said her oldest daughter, Faye Rohrer of Manheim.
She traveled extensively after being widowed at 70, going to Alaska, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand and to Church of the Brethren conferences around the U.S. She also has earned aname as an excellent quilter and for her crocheting and embroidery, family members said." A brother's obituary...

Enos B. Heisey
LANCASTER Enos B. Heisey, age 89, a resident of the Mennonite Home, Lancaster,
passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 6, 2012. He was the husband
of Jane (Hackman) Heisey who passed away April 1, 2004. Born February 1, 1923
in Clay Township (Lancaster County) he was the son of the late Rev. Peter S.
and Sadie Burkholder Heisey of Sheridan R.D. 1, Pennsylvania. He attended
Swamp School, a one-room school, in Clay Township, Lancaster County and
graduated from Schaefferstown High School. Enos also attended Lebanon Valley
College, Penn State University, American Management Association, Missouri
Auction School, and Onondaga Community College (Syracuse, NY). In addition, he
participated in many in-house training courses throughout his 41 year career
with Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and Agway. Enos was past president of the
Heidelberg Lions Club, Schaefferstown, school board director of Central Cove
School district, Martinsburg (Blair County), member of the Martinsburg Rotary
Club, an ordained minister (free ministry) for the Church of the Brethren,
board chair of Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg, member Lebanon
Credit Bureau, member board of administration of Atlantic Northeast district
Church of the Brethren. Enos was also a member of the board of administration
for the Middle District Church of the Brethren while residing in Martinsburg.
He served seven times as a delegate to Church of the Brethren Annual
conferences. He served as a pulpit supply minister in American Baptist
churches while living in Manlius (Syracuse) N.Y. Occupationally, he was
General Manager of the Lebanon Valley Farm Bureau Association from 1953 to
1959, and Pennsylvania Farm Bureau district manager in central and western
Pennsylvania from 1959 to 1964. In 1964 he was named Manager of Member
Relations for Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and relocated to Hershey. The following
year Pennsylvania Farm Bureau joined Agway (a merger of Eastern States Farmers
and GLF). In 1965 Enos was named Manager of Public Member Relations for Agway
Inc. In 1972 Enos was transferred to the Agway corporate office in Syracuse,
N.Y., and continued in this position until his retirement in 1986 at which
time they relocated to Mount Gretna (Lebanon County). In 1992 they moved to
Lebanon and then to the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home in Palmyra in 2002. After
his wife passed away in 2004 Enos continued residing there until 2009 when he
relocated to the Mennonite Home in Lancaster. Enos, along with his wife Jane,
served as leader of 15 People-to-People agricultural delegations to all parts
of the world, including 59 countries. Enos served as a trustee of the People-
to-People International foundation for 30 years. In 2003 he was awarded a
lifetime achievement award at a ceremony in Washington DC. The award was
presented by Mary Jean Eisenhower, granddaughter of former President Dwight D.
Eisenhower who founded the People-to-People program in 1964 to promote peace
and understanding of all people regardless of race, nationality or creed. Enos
was also active in FFA activites receiving the distinguished American Farmer
Degree. He was a 40 year contributing member to the FFA Foundation. Enos was a
member of the Spring Creek Church of the Brethren, Hershey. In 2003 he was
recognized by the Atlantic Northeast District Church of the Brethren for 50
years of ministry. He is survived by three sons, Dennis, husband of Shirley
Sauder Heisey of Lancaster, Philip, husband of Noreen Kramer Heisey of
Harleysville, and Thomas, husband of Cheryl Myers Heisey of Allison Park;
grandchildren, Yvette Heisey Haeberle, Delyn Heisey Walker, Peter Heisey,
Sarah Heisey, and Ashley Heisey. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren,
Daniel, Ryan, William Haeberle and Victoria and Davis Walker. He is survived
by a sister, Ruth Bushong of Brethren Village of Lancaster. In addition to his
wife he was predeceased by brothers, Ralph, Samuel; and two grandsons, Brooks
and Andrew Heisey sons of Dennis and Shirley Heisey. Viewing hours will be
Friday, March 9th between 6 to 8 p.m. at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc 226
Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042. Burial Services will be held at the
Heidelberg Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Schaefferstown, on Saturday, March
10th. Funeral service will be held at Spring Creek Church of the Brethren, 335
E. Areba Ave., Hershey, PA 17033 at 2 p.m. on March 10th following the burial.
Family will greet friends and loved ones 1 hour prior to beginning of service.
