Judith Ann Orr, 69, of Beaverdam died Oct. 30, 2017, at 5:59 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System. Judy was born Jan. 23, 1948 in Bluffton to the late Clarence and Norma (Bushong) Burkholder. On March 29, 1968, she married David Orr who preceded her in death on April 27, 2016.
Judy was a homemaker.
Survivors include a special nephew, Bryan (Casey) Burkholder of Columbus Grove and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Goecke and a nephew, Jeffrey Burkholder.
Services will be held Friday, Nov. 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Beaverdam following the service. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

OPAL PHYLLIS (JOHANNES) BUSHONG

Opal Phyllis Johannes, daughter of William and Belva Johannes, was born
in Mahaska county, 11 August 1912, and passed away at her home near
Montezuma, 1 March 1954, at the age of 41 years, 6 months, and 20 days.
When she was a child she came with her parents to the Montezuma
community where she spent all the rest of her life.
On 25 November 1931, she was married to John Floyd Bushong in
Lancaster, Missouri. Mr. and Mrs. Bushong made their home in Montezuma for a number
of years. Then in 1942, they moved to the farm four miles east of Montezuma
which has been their home ever since. to them were born two sons, Kenneth
of Montezuma and Billy at home.
She is survived by her husband and two sons; her father, William
Johannes of Montezuma; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Van Hoever, Mrs. Audra Anderson
and Mrs. Doris Snider, all of Montezuma; two brothers, Carl Johannes of
Montezuma and Ivan Johannes of Marengo, besides many other relatives and

Funeral services for Mrs. John Bushong were said Thursday afternoon, 4
March at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church with Rev. Paul Ellis, Pastor
of the church in charge. Bill Rempp, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Esther
Moore, sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset". Casket bearers were
Sylvan VeVerka, Donald McKee, Wesley Malcolm, Ralph Peters, Clarence Simpson,

KENNETH BUSHONG

Funeral services for a well known Montezuman, Kenneth Floyd Bushong,
were conducted by the Rev. Thomas Pickles, pastor of the United Methodist
Church, Tuesday morning, 19 December, at Watts Funeral Home. Music was provided
by vocalist Darrell Brand and organist Kathleen Ramsey. Casket bearers
were Fred Baker, Bill Gregory, Ronald Davidson, John Shultz, Jim Cranston and
Norman McKee. Honorary bearers were Max Smith, Duane Larsen and Max
Johnston. Burial was at Jackson Township Cemetery.
Mr. Bushong, 57, died of an apparent heart attack Saturday morning, 16
December, while helping with chores at the Sylvan VeVerka Farm.
The son of John F. and Opal P. Johannes Bushong, he was born 30 June
1932 at Montezuma. He graduated from Montezuma High School in 1950. He
enlisted in the United States Marines during the Korean War and was medically
discharged.
On 19 April 1953, he was married to Beverly Sheesley at New Sharon.
They were parents of four daughters and two sons.
Mr. Bushong had worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation from
1957 in addition to farming. He was a member of United Methodist Church and
the AFSCME, having served on the executive council.
Surviving are his wife Beverly of the family home, Route 2, Montezuma;
and their family Phyllis and Mark Rodgers, James, Pamela and Patricia of
Garwin; Cheryl and Mike Mitchell, Mindy and Roman of Cedar Rapids; Diane and
Rick Crittendon and Sarah of Keswick; Michael Bushong and Chastity of
Montezuma; Rex and Kim Bushong and Lucas also of Montezuma; and Brenda Bushong a
student at William Penn College, Oskaloosa. He is also survived by a
brother, Bill Bushong and his family. John and Christy Bushong and Vana, Connie
and Mike Durr, Chase and Jenna, all of Montezuma.
He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandson, Mathew
Mitchell.

MRS. HELEN ARLINE BUSHONG

NORWAY - Helen Arline Bushong, 88, of Norway, died Monday, 11 September 2006 at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Haverhill, Maine, on 22 April 1918, the daughter of Frank E. and Bertha Welch Hall. She attended schools in Haverhill and had held various jobs, including picking grapes in Napa, California. She had been a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the Bolsters Mills Ladies Guild. She was a seamstress, she loved to sew and she was a good cook.
Mrs. Bushong is survived by a son, William A. Bushong, Jr. and his wife Ann Marie of Clancy, Montana; four daughters, Beverly J. Sears and Karen Turino of Bolsters Mills, Joyce E. Bartlett and her husband Duane of Worthington, Maine, Cindy E. Newton of Norway and Helen M. Bushong and Carol Barker of Harrison; 10 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Merle Hall of Casco and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William A. Bushong, Sr.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 230 Main St., Norway.

-Edna Rose Bushong, 99, of Washington, IL and formerly of Dunfermline and Bellevue, passed away at her residence at 7:45 am on Friday, December 16, 2016.

She was born on June 8, 1917 in Dripping Springs, KY a daughter of Andrew and Cordelia Jones Baker. She married Osmon “Bud” Bushong on November10, 1933 in Crawfordsville, IN. He passed away in October 1994.

Surviving are one daughter, Janice Beebe of Washington, IL her caregiver and best friend; one son, Jerry(Laura) Bushong of Dunfermline, IL; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Jim and Osmon Bushong, Jr. and three grandchildren

Edna worked for the Bellevue Water Department for 22 years retiring in 1971 and was a loving homemaker. She loved to square dance and enjoyed all other kinds of dancing as well. She liked to travel and enjoyed her family time. She also enjoyed doing crosswords and embroidery. She was dearly loved by her family and will be missed by all that knew Edna.

Funeral Services will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Pastor Rita Blanch will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday.Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the UnityPoint Methodist Hospice.

Born Oct. 22, 1935, in Peoria to Osmon L. and Edna R. Baker Bushong , he married Judith Gray on Sept. 25, 1954, in Peoria. He later married Rose Jackson Chapai in Peoria. He then married Kimberly S. Espinoza on Jan. 13, 2004, in Las Vegas. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Dunfermline; five daughters, Rhonda Pfeiffer and Rita (and Robert) Blanch, both of Peoria, Tracy Bushong of Pekin, and Jackie Chapai and Kimberly Martin, both of Peoria Heights; two sons, Jeffery (and Tina) Chapai and David (and Kellie) Espinoza, both of Canton; two brothers, Osmon Jr. (and Shirley) of Peoria and Jerry (and Laura) of Dunfermline; one sister, Janice Beebe of Washington; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and one son, Jay Bushong , on July 4, 2003.

He worked in the circulation department at the Peoria Journal Star for 47 years, retiring on Feb. 2, 2002.

He was a member of Peoria Elks Lodge.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, where visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
