My great grandfather, William Woods Foster m. Eliza Ann Bushong, 21 Feb 1869, Benton County, Missouri. Eliza is the daughter of James (b. 1801, KY) and Mary (b. 1814, TN).
James is the son of Henry, Sr. Eliza b. 1849, probably Benton County, MO. She had one daughter, Ellenora F. Foster, b. 27 Aug, 1871, Benton Co., MO, d. 7 Aug 1962, San Diego, CA.

Eliza died when Ellenora was only two years old. William Foster remarried the neighbor of the Bushong family, Frances Ann Robertson, who raised Ellenora. The Foster family moved to Santa Maria, California in 1880, where Ellenora attended school and later married. Any contact with the Bushong family was lost at that point. Ellenora had two children. Does anyone have any record of Eliza Bushong Foster's burial place in Benton County, MO, or the burial of her parents, James and Mary Bushong?

Verna Mae Dietz, 79, Wheatland, Mo., died May 5, 2005, at Citizens
Memorial Hospital, Bolivar.
She was born July 31, 1925, to Judson and May Bushon Suiter near
Quincy, Mo. She grew up in the Quincy and Weaubleau areas and
graduated from Weaubleau High School. She married Kenneth Dietz in
1944, and he preceded her in death in 1996. She was a member of the
Pomme de Terre United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Kenny Paul Dietz, Weaubleau; a daughter,
Susan Long, Belton; a brother, W. C. Suiter, Quincy; a sister, Velva
Robinett, Danville, California; and two grandsons.
Services were May 7 at Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home Chapel in
Wheatland with Rev. Kent Parsons officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion
Cemetery, Quincy.

Judson Franklin Suiter was born on 21 February 1895 in Benton County, Missouri. He and May Bushong were married. He died on 2 February 1962, at age 66, in Benton County, Missouri.

JOHN BUSHONG OF WALTONVILLE HANGS HIMSELF
TRAGEDY OCCURS ON HIS 67TH BIRTHDAY. FUNERAL SET TUESDAY.

John Bushong hanged himself from a tree in the yard at his home in
Waltonville yesterday, on his 67th birthday.
Coroner Ben Roeder conducted an inquiry and returned a verdict of
suicide.
The body was found at 5:00 am by his daughter Mrs. Ruth Nelson, hanging
from the tree with a rope taken from the well.
Mr. Bushong had been in failing health. However Porter L. Dycus of Ina,
a friend who had been visiting with Mr. Bushong since Friday, told the
coroner that Mr. Bushong had talked rationally.
He said Mr. Bushong got up about 3:00 am to build a fire and that the
next thing he knew he was awakened at 5 am and told he was dead.
Mr. Bushong was a retired railroad employee having returned several
years ago from his employment with the CB & Q.
He was born 9 January 1882 in Jefferson County, the son of Thomas and
Irene Bushong.
Surviving are his wife Lula; three sons, Virgil of Waltonville, Joseph
of Chicago and William at home; three daughters Mrs. Opal Rector and Mrs.
Evelyn Norden both of Mount Vernon, and Mrs. Ruth Nelson at home; and a
half-brother William Lennington of Salem.
Three sons and two daughters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 pm at the Fry Funeral
Home in Waltonville. The Rev, Fergus McElrea will conduct the services and
burial will be in Knox Prairie Cemetery, north of Waltonville.
The body will remain at the Fry Funeral Home. CB&Q is the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.

Lou Ella Newberry was born on 23 December 1887 in Scheller, Jefferson County, Illinois. She and John Bushong were married on 21 September 1903 in St. Louis, Illinois. She died on 6 September 1949, at age 61, in Waltonville, Jefferson County, Illinois. She was buried in Knob Prairie Cemetery, Waltonville, Jefferson County, Illinois.

Her married name was Lou Ella Bushong. Lou Ella Newberry was also known as Newbury. Enumerated 2 January 1920

BUSHONG RITES THURSDAY, 2 P.M. IN WALTONVILLE

The funeral of Lulu Bushong will be held Thursday at 2 pm at the Fry
Funeral Home in Waltonville. The Rev. Fergus McElrea will be in charge.
Mrs. Bushong who was 61 years 8 months and 23 days of age, died
yesterday morning at 4:20 at her Waltonville home.
Burial will be in Knob Prairie Cemetery. The body will lie in state at
the funeral home until the hour of the service.
Mrs. Bushong was born in Scheller 23 December 1887, the daughter of
William and Elizabeth Newbury. She was married in 1903 to John Bushong, who
died last January.
Surviving are three sons, Virgil of Waltonville, Joseph of Chicago, and
William at home; three daughters Mrs. Opal Rector and Mrs. Evelyn Nordin
of Mount Vernon and Mrs. Ruth Nelson at home; three sisters, Mrs. Mary
Stowers of DuQuoin, Mrs. Margaret Cates and Mrs. Nola Mays of Mount Vernon; four
brothers, Ray and Welby Newbury of Peoria, Dick Newbury of Whittington and
Jim Newbury of Sesser.

Note: Lulu Bushong died suddenly of a heart attack. Lou Ella Bushong
