She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, James.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral
Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, with the Rev. Stan Buck officiating.

Mr. Frederick William "Fred" Bushong, 80, husband of Angie Virginia Lee Bushong, and a resident of Temperanceville, VA, formerly of Lancaster, PA, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at his residence.
Born August 12, 1933 in Lancaster County, PA, he was a son of the late Raymond Walter Bushong and Katherine Pontz Bushong. Following his service in the United States Army, Fred was an inspector for Permutit, and later became a nuclear inspector for Baltimore Gas and Electric Company. He was a "lover of nature" and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Johnson of Manheim, PA; a son, Scott Bushong of Lancaster; two stepdaughters, Felicia Whistler of Port Royal, PA and Lori Stump of Stevens, PA; a sister, Patricia Groff, and a brother, Raymond Bushong, both of Lancaster; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, and their families. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James Bushong, and a grandchild.
Interment will be held at a later date, in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster.

Mary Alma Bushong, 100, of Short Hills, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, 5 December 2013 at Pine Acres Nursing Home. Mary Alma was born on 25 August 1913 in Wall Township, New Jersey. She just celebrated her 100th birthday with her family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar and Charlotte (nee Osborn) Parker. Mary Alma was a graduate of Manasquan High School and New Jersey College, which is now Douglas College. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and served as class president her senior year. She was president of her Douglas College Alumnae class for 17 years. She was awarded the Vanguard Service Award from Douglas College in 2006 for her service and efforts in parliamentary procedures and bylaw revisions.
She was a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians. Mary Alma was a member of the American Association of University Women and became an honorary member after 50 years of membership in 2006. She was Past President of Summit College Club, which is a division of AAUW. She was Past President of the Woman's Club of Milburn and served as financial secretary of the N U Federation of Woman's Clubs. Mary Alma was a former trustee and recording secretary of Cora Hartshorn Arboretum, former Brownie Leader and Corporate Member of the Girl Scouts of Greater Essex county, and former recording secretary of the Milburn-Short Hills Community Fund, which is now United Way Milburn-Short Hills. She was a member of the Governor Livingston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of Summit Nature Club. Mary Alma taught at her alma mater, Manasquan High School, for several years, then worked in New Jersey Bell Telephone Company for 12 years as a Business office Supervisor/Assistant Manager. After her marriage she moved to Short Hills, raised her family, and joined Christ Church in Short Hills.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 41 years, Charles Robert Bushong. She is survived by her son, Charles Robert Bushong, Jr. and wife Joan of Randolph, New Jersey, and a daughter Charlotte Etta Bushong of Short Hills, New Jersey, and three granddaughters; Beth Bushong of Columbus, Ohio, Cathy and Kristine Bushong of Randolph, New Jersey. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Osborn Rankin Olsen of Manasquan, New Jersey.

A Memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, 15 December 2013 at Christ Church, 66 Highland Avenue, Short Hills, New Jersey 07078. Interment will be private. A memorial service for township resident Mary Alma Bushong will be held Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Christ Church, 66 Highland Ave., Short Hills.

Interment will be private.

Mrs. Bushong, 100, died Dec. 5 at Pine Acres Nursing Home in Madison.

Born in 1913 in Wall Township, she was a graduate of Manasquan High School and New Jersey College, which is now Douglas College in New Brunswick. She earned a bachelor's degree in history and served as class president during her senior year. She was president of her Douglas College Alumnae class for 17 years.

Mrs. Bushong was awarded the Vanguard Service Award from Douglas College in 2006 for her service and efforts in parliamentary procedures and bylaw revisions.

She was a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians and a past president of the Dorothy B. McGlade Unit of the National Association of Parliamentarians.

Mrs. Bushong was a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and became an honorary life member after 50 years of membership in 2006.

She was past president of Summit College Club, which is a division of AAUW. She was the past president of the Woman's Club of Millburn and served as financial secretary of the New Jersey Federation of Woman's Clubs in New Brunswick.

Mrs. Bushong was also a former trustee and recording secretary of the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum in Short Hills, a former Brownie leader and corporate member of the Girl Scouts of Greater Essex County, and former recording secretary of the Millburn-Short Hills Community Fund, which is now United Way Millburn-Short Hills.

She was a member of the Governor Livingston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of Summit Nature Club.

Mrs. Bushong taught at her alma mater, Manasquan High School for several years, and then worked at New Jersey Bell Telephone Co., now Verizon New Jersey in Newark, for 12 years as a business office supervisor and assistant manager.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 41 years, Charles Robert Bushong.]

Mrs. Bushong is survived by a son, Charles Robert Jr. of Randolph; a daughter, Charlotte Etta of the township; a sister, Phyllis Osborn Rankin Olsen of Manasquan; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services for Joe A. Bushong, 50, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 4211 Arctic Blvd. Mr. Bushong died Oct. 9 at Elmendorf AFB Hospital. Born Feb. 14, 1936, in Missouri, he had lived in Alaska since 1976 and was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Anchorage Moose Lodge 1534 and served as past governor of that organization, the Palmer Elks Lodge No. 1842; the Air National Guard from 1976 to 1983 where he worked as a recruiter. He also worked for several years with the Muscular Dystrophy telethon and was a member of the Good Sams camper club. He leaves his wife, Doris, of Anchorage; his son, Mark, of Missouri; his daughter, Linda Busher, of Texas; his stepsons, Russell Hutchings, of Missouri, Kenneth Hutchings, of Anchorage, and Michael Hutchings, of Germany; and his brother, Eucle Bushong, of Missouri. Arrangements by Kehls Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel.
