Michael Willard Bushon, 50, of Chadwick, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in Cox South Hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1966, in Mountain Grove, the son of Willard “Buck” and Delta (Buchanan) Bushong.
On Sept. 16, 1995, he was united in marriage to Kathy Gideon. After graduating from Seymore High School, Mike worked various jobs including manufacturing limousines and driving trucks. When not working, he enjoyed fishing and hunting elk and deer. He also enjoyed traveling and sightseeing with his family and cherished his time with his girls, Brooke, Bailey, Mikayla, Maryann and Madilynn. Mike’s final act of giving was the gift of being a donor so others may benefit from his generosity.
Mike is survived by his wife Kathy Bushong; daughters Brooke Stanley and husband Chris, Bailey Tennis and husband Shelby and Mikayla Bushong; granddaughters Maryann and Madilynn Stanley; mother Delta Stafford and husband Don; mother-in-law Wanda Gideon; father-in-law Robert Gideon and wife Bessie; sisters Barbara Turley and husband Kim, Pamela Cole and husband Jack. Marilyn Dian Bushong, 82, of Decatur passed away at 6:12 am on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Mt. Vernon, IL on February 26, 1934, the daughter of Walter and Norva Gutzler. She moved to Decatur in 1954. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She married Myron Bushong in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1998.

There will be a family led memorial service on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church (875 W. Grove Rd., Decatur, IL) at 11:00 am. Visitation will be one hour before at the church. Private burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting the family.

Mrs. Bushong is survived by sons, Stephen (Teena) Bushong of Decatur, IL, and Derek (Linda) Bushong of Decatur, IL; sisters, Donna Dudley of Hot Springs, AR, and Jackie (Harold) Chambliss of Bluford, IL; one brother, Randy Gutzler of Sesser, IL; four grandchildren, Kelly Baker, Lisa Casey, Nick Bushong and Amber Welton; and six great grandchildren.
