Bushong, Elinore Marguerite 98 Aug. 12, 1916 Mar. 16, 2015 Elinore Bushong, known to friends as Peggy, died peacefully at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Seattle, and grew up in the Pacific Northwest. She was the third child in a family of 16 children and lived for many years in Beaverton. Peggy married James Paul Perkins in 1934 and had two children, Joyce Elinore Finley and James Arthur Perkins. She survived both children. While living in Talent, she met and married James B. Bushong in 1954 and was married until his death in 1972. A longtime member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Beaverton, she was involved in many committees including the flower committee. She loved to garden, especially roses, and was active in Toastmasters. She is survived by her brother, Pat Gabriel; sisters, Katherine Moore, Mary Ledington and Lenore Gilberstadt; grandchildren, Stella Bender of Bellevue and Allene Anliker of Portland; great-grandchildren, Alicia Anliker, Madison Bender, Hayden Bender and Preston Bender; and many extended nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly. A private family memorial service will be held Friday, March 27, 2015. Remembrances may be sent in her name to First Church of Christ, Scientist in Beaverton.

Private funeral services will be held at the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark L. Russell officiating. Traditional casket burial will be in the Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, PA.
