BUSHONG FUNERAL
NEW MARKET----The funeral for Ralph Garber Bushong, 72, of Route 1, New
Market, will be conducted 11 am Friday at Raders Lutheran Church by the Rev.
Richard Phalen and the Rev. S. Wallace Berry. Burial will be in the church
Cemetery.
Mr. Bushong died Tuesday evening while working on his Shenandoah County
dairy farm between Timberville and Forestville.
He was born 8 December 1904 on the farm in Shenandoah County and was a
son of the late Samuel and Bertha Garber Bushong.
He lived his entire life in Shenandoah County.
He was a member of Raders Lutheran Church and was a former member of
the church council.
On 1 January 1927, he married the former Ada Marie Calhoun, who died 26
March.
Surviving are five children: Don A. Bushong of Onley, Richard C.
Bushong of Route 2 Timberville, Gary W. Bushong of New Market, Mrs. Barbara
Miller of Waynesboro and Carroll E. Bushong of Harrisonburg; a sister Mrs.
Frances Pence of Wauseon, Ohio and nine grandchildren.
The body is at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home where the family
will receive friends 7:30 - 8:30 PM today.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Raders
Lutheran Church. Contributions may be mailed to Mrs. Evelyn Biller,

Vera Connerly, 79, of 301 Sherwood Drive died at 1:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 1995, at Hallmark Nursing Center in Pekin.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. John E. Plunkett will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Creve Coeur Christian Church, of which she was a member.

She was born Sept. 27, 1915, in Washington County, KY., to John L. and Bertha Carter Lambert. She married Ray Bushong Oct 5, 1933, in Petersburg. He died in 1948. She married Theron Connerley Jan 11, 1961 in Creve Couer. He died in 1986.

One son, Gerald Bushong who died in Oct 1991, and one brother also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Jack (Bonnie) Fryman and Wanda Bushong, both of Pekin;one step-daughter, Mrs Wayne (Elaine) Viegenbein of Pekin; two sons, Bobby Bushong of Pekin and Walter Bushong of Edwardsville; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Myrttle Clark and Christine Shum, both of Delavan.

Mrs. Connerly was a nurse's aide at the Peoria State Hospital for 21 ½ years, retiring Jn 5, 1975.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Bushong was a construction worker for 10 years, last working in spring of 1991. He also worked at Hicks Gas Station for 10 years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pekin and Pekin Eagles Lodge. He served in the Air Force.

Bob Bushong, 70, of Belleville, Ill., born Aug. 21, 1938, in Little Rock,
Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Bushong was a retired bus driver. Bob was a U. S. Navy veteran.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rita, nee Meekes, Hall.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Christine Ann, nee Przybysz, Bushong,
whom he married Oct. 15, 1982; four sons, Barry Bushong, Robert Bushong, James
Erhardt, and Michael Erhardt; seven grandchildren, Robert and Steven Erhardt,
Montgomery and Morgan Erhardt, Michael and Matthew Bushong, and Stephanie
Kraus; and a great-grandson, Joey Bushong.

PEKIN, IL ~ Wanda Jo Bushong, 66, of 20 South Second Street, passed away at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Hopedale Hospital, Hopedale, IL.

She was born November 24, 1941 in South Pekin to Elmer Ray and Vera (Lambert) Bushong.

Surviving are one sister, Bonnie (Jack) Fryman of Pekin; two brothers, Walter (Jane) Bushong of Edwardsville and Bobby Bushong of Pekin; one step-sister, Elaine Zigenbein of Pekin; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Ray Bushong, mother, Vera Connerly, one brother, Jerry Bushong, and her dog Alfie.

She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Pekin.

Wanda worked as a bartender at the Union Club in Pekin and several other area bars. She also worked as a bottler for American Distilling Company in Pekin.

Her graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008 at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements are entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
