Thomas "Tom" A. Bushong Jr., age 75, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at his home. Tom was born on February 28, 1937 in Granite City, IL, a son to the late Thomas A. and Dorothy (Weller) Bushong Sr.

On August 22, 1958, Tom married Shirley Bailey, the love of his life in Granite City, IL. Tom was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Granite City, IL. He was very active in the F.I.G.S (Fellowship Involving Granite Seniors) at the church; he also played santa and the easter bunny for many years at the church as well. Tom was an auxiliary policeman for the Granite City Police Department. He worked twenty six years at Madison Metal Decorating in Madison, IL and worked at the Casino Queen as a security guard for ten years before retiring. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, whom he adored.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two brothers.

He survived by his loving wife, Shirley Bushong; three wonderful children, Debbie (Tim) Tedesco of Granite City, IL, Lori (Mark) Jones of Granite City, IL and Sheri (Dalton) Holt of Edwardsville, IL; six grandchildren, Tommy (Lynsey) Tedesco, Jennifer Tedesco, Matt Jones, Megan Jones, Tyler Holt and Emma Holt; dear nieces, nephews, special cousins and many friends.

Visitation: friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Rd. Granite City, IL.

In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL, with Rev. Lisa Guilliams officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL.

Tori Frazier. SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Mr. Wilton E. Bushong, age 84, (formerly of Rimer, Ohio) passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 7:15 A.M. in Scottsdale, AZ. He was born January 7, 1933 in Putnam County, Ohio to the late Rollie N. and Mildred M . (Deffenbaugh) Bushong.

On June 8, 1958 he married Susan Sailsbury, who passed away August 19, 2009.

Wilton graduated from Vaughnsville High School, Class Of 1953. After graduation he enlisted in The U.S. Army. Soon after his discharge from The U.S. Army he came home to get married then returning to Melbourne, Florida to work for The NASA Aerospace Program at Cape Canaveral, Florida. He was excellent working with electronics. Upon his retirement from NASA, he moved to various locations in the United States, living with his daughter and her family, eventually settling in Scottsdale, AZ.

His hobbies were working with electronics and listening to music, especially Barbershop Harmony.

Surviving are two Daughters, Sally (Don) Walters, Gulf Breeze, Florida and Lorrie (Ralph) Gonzalez, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Sister Monetta Lloyd, Gomer and a Brother Lane (Nancy) Bushong, Lima . A Brother Herbert Bushong preceded him in death.

A Graveside Service and burial will be held at a later date.

Leona Junearu Madding was the daughter of DeKalb and Mary Barbara "Mollie" (Arnold) Madding. Leona was the tenth of twelve children born to this couple.

Leona retired in 1973 as a licensed practical nurse.

Her first marriage was to Joe O Bushong, they had no children, and they later divorced. On 28 Jun 1965 she married a second time to Byron Farleigh Shelton, they had no children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; five brothers, Leonard, Henry, James, Earnest and Ralph Madding; six sisters, Edna Roberts, Carrie Parks, Jennifer Lemons, Bertha Madding, Bessie Williams and Ruba Madding.

The spelling of her middle name was taken from the family bible, it may be different on her other legal documents. In fact, according to the bible Juneura, may actually be her first name. Her obituary has Leona G Shelton.

Note: Leona is in the photo wearing a blue dress on Bryon's memorial page. She had that photo in her room at Burgin's Manor. She is also pictured with Joe Bushong on his memorial page.
