Mr. and Mrs. Stookey moved to the Milford area and lived there for the next 45 years. Mr. Stookey worked as an electrician for NIPSCO, operated Stookey Electric, and also worked at the Barth company. Last year, at the age of 75, he decided to rest from his many years of labor. But this time of rest and reflection was cut short: he died Sunday, Nov. 7th, while in Goshen general hospital.
His wife and daughter, Mrs. Patricia Hammond, and grandson Brent, in the U.S. Navy, knew that he would leave them someday, but hoped to have more time before his departure to the Next Life.

Nora was the daughter of Hezekiah and Minervia (Kirkendall) Bushong.
She was born on November 10, 1873.
She had her only child, Della Younce, on April 14, 1890. Della's father was John Younce. It doesn't appear that they ever married. At the age of 15, Della married Earl A. Knepp on November 14, 1905. She married Jack F. Adams on December 17, 1960.
Nora's 1st husband was William Henry Lavering. They were married on July 12,1892. He was born on October 26, 1871, the son of Daniel and Elizabeth (Long) Lavering. Henry was a brother to Mary Lavering (her brother Charles' wife). They later divorced.
Nora's 2nd husband was Lorenzo Haller who was a widower. They were married on August 6, 1901 in Kosciusko Co., IN. This marriage too ended in divorce. *Name on marriage license was Nora Bushong.
She then married Arnie Fausch on September 24, 1907. He was born in July 1875 in Goshen, IN to Gottlbe Fausch and Matilda Fiedeke.
Nora's 4th husband was George Phebus. They were married on August 11, 1914. He is the one shown standing beside her in the 1915 family reunion picture. George was born in 1874 to William H. Phebus and Eliza Tom.
On April 11, 1931 Nora married George Darr in Benton, IN. George was born on December 19, 1869 to John Darr and Elizabeth Juday. *Name on marriage license was Eleanora Phelris - married twice (?)
Her 6th husband was Henry Elston Booth. They were married on February 17, 1951. (Henry had previously been married to Marion Wyland's (husband of Gertrude Bushong) mother Jennie.) Henry was born on August 21, 1881 to Benjamin Franklin Booth and Elizabeth Sarber. *Name on license was Elnora Darr - married 3 (?) times.
Elnora passed away on June 24, 1958. Nora with Henry and child form first marriage(?)

Alva M Younce Boarder M 54 Ohio. She had a child before her first marriage: Della Mae Younce, born 14 Apr 1889 in Syracuse, Indiana. The father was John David Younce (10 Apr 1871, Ohio - 19 May 1944, Portland, Oregon). I do not find a marriage record, but this may be the reason for the strange handwritten addition on the marriage license to William Henry Lavering:
Hezekiah Bushong swore "one of the said parties [that is, Elnora?] is not of lawful age to marry without the consent of their parents or guardian; that he knows of no lawful reason why said parties ought not to marry, and that he [Hezekiah Bushong] is not interested in the marriage of said parties [why not? his son is marrying her!], but that the parties of said Wm H Lavering are willing that he should marry."
This daughter appears with the Bushong name in the 1900 census, but later used Younce for her marriage in 1905 to Earl Albert Knepp. "United States Census, 1940," Elnora Darr, Syracuse, Turkey Creek Township, Kosciusko, Indiana, United States
