Jimmy Wayne Bushong, Sr., 73, of Jonesboro passed away Friday at NEA Baptist Hospital. Mr. Bushong was born in Judd Hill Plantation on October 14, 1940 to Henry and Ruby Louise Clark Bushong.

Jimmy was retired from Hytrol Conveyor. He loved fishing, hunting and bowling and he was also an avid reader.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Earl Bushong and Malcolm Dale Bushong; two sisters, Mearle Brown and Shirley Dye.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Varner Bushong of the home; a son, Jimmy Wayne (Suzanne) Bushong, Jr. of Paragould; a daughter, Angela (Brent) Smith of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Kristen Fagan, Logan Bushong and Jacob Bushong; two great-grandchildren, Lexi and Amelea Fagan; two sisters, Mary Taylor of Jonesboro and Molly Suzanne Coffman of Kansas City, MO; a brother, Bill Bushong of Paragould; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, March 5 at 10:00am with Ronnie Dye and Logan Bushong reciting the Euology.

Visitation is Tuesday, March 4 from 6:00pm – 8pm at the funeral home.

She also was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters.

She was born Sept. 18, 1948, in Peoria to Leslie E. and Shirley A. Hawkins
Bushong. Norma married Jon J. Brenning on Feb. 18, 1984. He survives.
Norma was employed as a pharmacy technician for CVS Pharmacy until her
retirement in October 2007.
She is survived by her son, Robert Berry; her stepchildren, Heather M.
Brenning, Jon Brenning Jr. and Denise Brenning, all of Peoria; her grandsons,
Robert E. Berry and Roman L. Berry; her nine stepgrandchildren; and her brother,
Steven L. Bushong of Trivoli.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Norma was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.

Ruth Arlene Rudy Bushong, age 92, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and friend to
many, departed this life Saturday, February 14, surrounded by her loving
family and Pastor Bob Jones. Place of death was Warren Memorial Hospital,
Front Royal, VA. Ruth was born in Woodstock, Shenandoah County, VA on
October 28th, 1911. She was a daughter to Glenn William and Bettie Heltzel
Rudy. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Raymond Arehart
Bushong, one sister, 4 brothers, and one great-great-granddaughter. She is
survived by a daughter, Helen Bushong Morgan, son, R. Rudy Bushong, both of
Front Royal, son John William Bushong of Woodstock, VA and son, Jacob
Arehart Bushong of Gilbert, AZ. Also surviving, sisters Elizabeth Rudy
Humphries, Jacksonville, TN, Rebecca Rudy Tharpe, Newsoms, VA and a brother,
Harry Samuel Rudy of Woodstock, VA, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren
and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Ruth attended Woodstock Elementary School
and graduated from Woodstock High School in 1931. While living in Woodstock
she and her family attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church. After moving to
Front Royal and in the years prior to raising her family, Ruth worked as a
seasonal worker at Old Virginia Packing House. She retired from the Warren
County School system as cafeteria manager. She was a Charter Member of Good
Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ruth cheerfully volunteered her time
and talents to many community organizations including C-Cap, Lynn Care
Center, Warren Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, AARP, and the Salvation Army.
Ruth was also a member of the What So Ever Circle of the King's Daughters
for 40 years, and the "lunch bunch". Family night will be Wednesday,
February 18th from 7-9 p.m. at the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Good
Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Bob Jones officiating. Interment will
be at Panorama Memorial Gardens following the service. Pallbearers will be
Mike Morgan, Rick Morgan, Justin Ayers, Geoff Mellott, Tony Royston, Glenn
Downs, James Harpine, Charles Randall, and Jerry Lackovitch. Honorary
pallbearers will be past church council members and Loy Clem. Ruth was
blessed with a loving family and many friends and she will be greatly missed

Helen Bushong Morgan, 79, of Culpeper, Virginia, formerly of Front Royal, VA, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014, in the Culpeper Regional Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Samuel Campbell. Interment at Panorama Memorial Gardens will be private.

Mrs. Morgan was born August 26, 1935, in New Market, Virginia, daughter of the late Raymond A. and Ruth Arlene Rudy Bushong.

Helen was a 1953 graduate of Warren County High School in Front Royal, Virginia.

She was a retired employee of BB&T Bank in Front Royal, formerly F & M Bank, where she worked for 30 years in a number of capacities.

Mrs. Morgan was a member of the Front Royal Lioness Club where she served as president multiple times. She was a charter member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Front Royal. She enjoyed playing piano. Her family was her life and will always be remembered as a devoted daughter and a loving mother.

Surviving are two daughters, Rhonda Harpine of Disputanta and her husband James and Tracie Randall of Culpeper and her husband Charles; two sons, Michael Morgan of Front Royal and Rick Morgan of Front Royal and his wife June; two brothers, Jacob Bushong of Gilbert, Arizona and John Bushong of Woodstock; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Shenk Bushong of Front Royal; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a long-time friend, Bryan Strickler of Round Hill.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Rudy Bushong in 2010.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Lackovitch, William Funk, Kyle Finch, James Caputo, Nathan Morgan, and Jeff Smith.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.

He was an employee for Avtex for 13 years and a parts counter technician for Alliance Material Handling, Inc. for 28 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Front Royal, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #829, and was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the mountains and was an avid camper, bear watcher, and bird watcher.

Surviving are his wife Geraldine Shenk Bushong; a sister Helen Morgan of Strasburg; two brothers Jacob Bushong of Gilbert, AZ, and John Bushong of Woodstock; two daughters Teresa Michelle Bushong Royston and her husband Tony of Inwood, WV and Christy Renae Bushong Downs and her husband Glenn of Stephens City; and four grandchildren Samantha Rose Royston, Allyson Elizabeth Royston, Cole Hunter Downs, and Devyn Faye Downs. He dearly loved his grandchildren who knew him as "Poppa" and he was extremely proud of them.

Pallbearers will be Robert "Bobby" Coverstone, John Ott, Joe DeFrange, Mike Shenk, Alan Wimer, and Kenneth Cooley.Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Williamson, Dr. Gayland Hethcoat and his nurse Lisa.

Raymond "Rudy" Bushong, 64, of Front Royal, Virginia died Saturday, March 6, 2010 in his home.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by The Rev. Robert Jones. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mr Bushong was born March 8, 1945 in Front Royal, VA, son of Raymond A. Bushong and Ruth A. Bushong. John William Bushong, 69, of New Market, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 peacefully at his home.

John was born October 10, 1951, in Front Royal, Virginia. He was the youngest son of the late Raymond A. and Ruth Rudy Bushong.

John was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Toms Brook and a loyal member of the New Market Eagles, Woodstock Moose and the Winchester Elks. He will always be best remembered by many as a member of local bands such as Scarlett Sound, Iced Melon, Royal Tones, Glory Road, Mirage Band, Just 4 Fun and the most recent Rock Bottom Band. Some may remember him as a long-time Finance Manager with Woodstock Garage or most recently Edinburg Motors.

If you were lucky enough to have met John, then you know how much he enjoyed playing his bass guitar, singing and just being surrounded by his family and friends. He has never met a stranger and will be remembered as a devoted son and a loving father.

He is survived by his fiance Karen Zerkel of New Market; two daughters, Holly Sutherly of Edinburg and her husband Kevin; and Kerri Mellott of Strasburg; his grandsons Tucker Moats and Steele Sutherly and granddaughter Kennedi Mellott; Geoff Mellott who he thought of as a son, Alexa Curtis and their son Grady Mellott, along with many family and friends that meant so much to him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Helen and brothers Jacob and Rudy.

He was previously married to Donna Bonnell Brooks from 1973 to 1986 and to Mildred Elizabeth Carney Fox from 1986 to 2000.

At this time the family is planning on a celebration of life at a later date.

Virginia L. "Ginny" Bushong, 93, Kokomo, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at her residence in Reflections Memory Care in Kokomo. She was born Jan. 30, 1919, in Milford to Floyd P. and Savilla (Cox) Fuller. Ginny was a 1937 graduate of Milford High School. On Sept. 12, 1938, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert S. Bushong. Their wedding took place in the First Brethren Church in Warsaw.

While her young husband studied at Ball State Teachers' College, Ginny worked at her father's general store and began her lifelong devotion to family. Over the years, she became an adored mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a proficient gardener and a formidable bridge partner.

Because of Bob's career moves, the family lived in Milford, North Vernon, Muskegon and Naples, Italy. They moved to Kokomo in 1954 where Bob taught and coached for 20 years. Their retirement years were divided between Birch Lake in Michigan and Leesburg, Fla.

Ginny was a 50-year member of the Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Psi Iota Xi Sorority and the Women's Department Club of Florida. She was employed for a number of years at the Credit Rating Bureau of Kokomo where she made several lasting friendships.

Surviving Ginny are her daughter, Jean E. Leyda; her grandchildren, Douglas W. Leyda, Indianapolis, Jill E. (Merritt) Becker, Zionsville and David A. (Angele) Leyda, Noblesville; and her great-grandchildren, Andrew, William and Anne Elyse Becker, and Matthew, Nathan and Benjamin Leyda.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and her son-in-law, W. David Leyda.

A service celebrating Ginny's life will be at noon Wednesday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd, with Pastors Larry Newberg and Stacee Fischer-Gehring officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery

Aug. 2, 1936 - July 5, 2010. Dr. W. David Leyda, 73, Kokomo, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010, at the Sheridan Rehab and Health Care Center. He was born Aug. 2, 1936, in New Castle, Pa., the son of Wallace B. and Virginia A. (Thompson) Leyda. He married Jean E. Bushong on June 11, 1960, in Kokomo, and she survives.. Dr. Leyda attended schools in Milwaukee, Wis., Ogden Dunes in Indiana and then Elkhart High School. Following graduation in 1954, Dave began his studies in pre-dental education at Indiana University in Bloomington, graduating with honors from the I.U. School of Dentistry in 1960. He completed three years of residency in oral surgery at Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis and established his first office in Kokomo in 1963.. Throughout his 37 years of practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery in Kokomo, Dr. Leyda received a number of professional honors and recognitions. Among them was being certified as a member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He was a member of the International College of Dentists, the American Dental Society, the Indiana Dental Society and the Wabash Valley Dental Society. He also held memberships in the Indiana, the Great Lakes and the American Societies of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.. Always dedicated to the welfare of his patients and employees, Dave found time to contribute his support to a number of local civic and cultural organizations. He rarely missed a meeting of the Noon Rotary Club, belonged to the Century Club, the Kokomo Y’s-Men Club and served on the IUK Foundation Board. In 2000, Dave was selected to serve on the Kokomo Common Council, filling the position as Fifth District councilman. The seven years that he participated in city government were a highlight of his life.. Raised as a member of the Presbyterian Church, Dave belonged to First Presbyterian Church of Kokomo for more than 40 years. He found great fellowship in an early morning Bible study, helped lead the youth group at one time and gave his time to the Boy Scouts of America. Most recently, he attended Grace United Methodist Church.. In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by two sons, Douglas W. Leyda and companion Kevin Fyffe, Indianapolis, and David A. Leyda and wife Angele, Noblesville; one daughter, Jill E. Becker and husband N. Merritt, Zionsville; six grandchildren, Andrew M. Becker, William N. Becker, Anne Elyse Becker, Matthew D. Leyda, Nathan A. Leyda and Benjamin R. Leyda; his mother-in-law, Virginia L. Bushong; a twin brother, W. Richard “Dick” Leyda and wife Carole, Bloomington; and two nieces, Deborah Marshall, Anderson, and Julianne Harris, Indianapolis.. He was preceded in death by his parents.. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, with Pastors Steve Beutler and Larry Newburg officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
