GARY BUSHONG DIES AT AGE 15
Gary A. Bushong, 15 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bushong died
at 3:15 pm yesterday at the family home, 1209 North 11th Street.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at the north side
Gospel Mission. The Rev. George H. Shelton will officiate and burial will be in
the Bethel Memorial Cemetery.
The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call until the
funeral hour. Gary was born 12 October 1933 in Minnesota, the son of Clarence and
Fern (Krinkle) Bushong. Besides his father and mother he is survived by a brother Raymond and

PLAINWELL - Mary F. Bushong, 51, of Plainwell and formerly of Traverse City,
died on Monday at her residence.
Mrs. Bushong was born on April 28, 1949 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of
Charles and Josephine (Cogswell) VanHyfte. On Nov. 7, 1975, she was united in
marriage to Douglas Bushong, who survives. Also surviving is her son, Guy
Schneider; a sister, Barbara Hildebrand; a brother, John VanHyfte; several aunts,
uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 1
p.m. at the Kalamazoo Valley Family Church (Romence Road between Westnedge and
Oakland Drive). Pastor Jeff Jones will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

January 4, 2010 at her home at Antram Farm.

System for 32 years. She held a B.S. Degree from James Madison University
and a Master's Degree from University of Virginia. She is survived by
numerous nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law. Her Scottie dog, Annie, also
survived her. A special thanks to her long term caretakers, Laurie LaFever
Shifflett and Mike and Carol McKinney.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset View Memorial Gardens in
Woodstock at a later date.

Bushong. She was born June 11, 1933 in Washington, D.C. Fay lived in
Washington until she married George Thomas Anderson on September 6th, 1951. They
lived in Maryland except for a three year stay on Okinawa. While in
Okinawa she learned the method of Japanese flower arrangement (Ikebama). She did
floral arrangements for the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. After
her children were grown she got her bachelor’s degree from the University
of Maryland. Since retirement she and George have lived in Williamsburg,
Virginia. During her years in Williamsburg she continued her flower
arranging for the Colonial Williamsburg homes. Her husband and three sons survive.
Glenn Thomas (Barbara Windley), Neal David (Linda Matthews), and Scott Lee
(Cynthia Hinojosa).Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. Sister Doris Alexander survives. Sister Mildred Parrish

WILLIAMSBURG - George Thomas Anderson Jr, 86, a 23 year resident of Williamsburg, died August 30, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Johnson City, TN, on May 29, 1930. Parents: George Thomas Anderson Sr. and Ella Lee Anderson (nee Colley). He attended George Washington University before entering the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He served in the field artillery in combat. George earned several medals for his service in the Army, including the Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. Afterwards, he served in the District of Columbia National Guard commanding AAA and missile batteries as part of the Washington Air Defense System. He retired from the National Security Agency after 28 years of service. Mr. Anderson was a member of Bruton Parish Episcopal Church in Williamsburg, where he served as a lay reader and chalicer, Eucharistic minister and a church guide. He was also active in his community of Berkeley's Green and was an honorary member of the Green Spring Garden Club. He was also a James City County/Williamsburg Master Gardener and Tree Steward. In addition, he was a 15 year volunteer for Colonial Williamsburg. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Fay Louise Anderson (nee Bushong). He is survived by three children, Glenn Thomas Anderson and his wife Barbara Jo, Neal David Anderson and his wife Linda Marie, and Scott Lee Anderson and his wife Cynthia Ann; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and close friends. A service celebrating the life of George will be held on Tuesday, September 6 at 2pm at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, followed by a reception at the Bruton Church Parish House. Memorials may be made to Bruton Parish Episcopal Church, PO Box 3520, Williamsburg, VA 23187, in memory of George Anderson. Rest in Peace Dad, Granddad, and Great-Granddad. We love you!
