Find A Grave Memorial# 119123188. Fern’s story is unique as well. Her father—my great grandfather—Tom Sukanen, is sort of a tragic mythical figure in Canadian History. Just google him. The mother and her children were in Minnesota, and the mother was committed and the children were adopted out to two different families. One daughter and the son died young—in their teens or early 20s. My great aunt Katherine was the other one who survived, but she never married or had children. In the 90s, she came here from Minnesota to live with Fern during her final years and we all got to know her. She was an artist, and a bit eccentric.

He was the beloved husband of the late Margie Lee “Judy” Bushong; dear father and father-in-law of Carl (Geneva) Powers, Bryan Bushong and Judy Bushong; dear brother of Audrey Johnson, Nina Peacock, Gloria Salmeri, Donna Richards and the late Gary and Clarence Jr. Bushong; dear grandfather of seven; great-grandfather of seven; dear special friend of Dee Callahan; dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, friend to many and loved by all.

Bud was a member of Teamsters Local 600.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Rd., Florissant, Mo., with a funeral service at 8 p.m. today.

Interment will be private. Contributions to charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated.

She was the loving wife of Joseph Salmeri Jr.; dear daughter of the late
Clarence Bushong and Fern Anna Neidhardt; devoted mother of Barb (Joseph)
Steller, Gina (Bob) Strobeck, Gloria (Scott) Mandrell and Joseph Sameri III;
cherished grandmother of nine; dear sister of Audrey (Bill) Johnson, Nina
Peacock, Donna (Ray) Richards; and sister-in-law of Chris Bushong.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence Bushong Jr., Gary
Bushong and Raymon Bushong.

Mrs. Salmeri was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Mt. Vernon.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Bethel Cemetery
in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Jimmy Bledsoe officiating. Friends are asked to
go directly to the cemetery on Friday.
