Vivian Harris Bushong

Vivian Harris was born to William Minor Harris and Emma Earl Boyett Harris on December 4, 1910. Her mother, Emma, passed away from tuberculoses in 1917 leaving William with two young children, Vivian and Derward, to raise. Vivian missed her mother her entire life. In 1922, her father William, married Myrtle Southerland Hall who was a wonderful mother to Vivian and her brother Durwood.

Vivian married John Tolbert Bushong on May 25, 1931 in Brandon, Florida They had two daughters Marian Lethia and Carole Natasha. Vivian and Tolbert lived in Brandon for many years. They moved to Winter Haven, FL when Tolbert went to work for American Can Company. Vivian was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She and Tolbert enjoyed traveling and seeing the USA. In 1982 they had an opportunity to visit Germany, "A once in a lifetime trip." In 1987, Vivian and Tolbert moved to Merritt Island, FL to be closer to their daughter Marian.

Vivian celebrated her 90th birthday in 1990 surrounded by her family and friends. She said "I never thought I'd live to be 90." She died at 98 years young.
