James Halstead married Elizabeth Teed or Tid and had a large family.Just before the Rev War they moved from Orange County to Half Moon District,then in Albany County and later in Saratoga County. James bought land on the north bank of the Mohawk river about four miles east of Schenectady. This section later became Clifton Park. James served in the Rev war when over 50 years of age, in the 12th Regt , Albany militia.He died about 1786 and during the next ten or fifteen years his children moved out of Saratoga county to Erie County and Cayuga county,Onandaga county.
