BUSHONG, Robert Mallory "Bob", was born December 3, 1930, and passed away
Sunday, October 11, 2009, at his home. He is survived by his wife of 54
years, Marie B. Bushong; daughter, Deborah B. Washburn and her husband, Jim;
son, William M. Bushong and his wife, Melissa; son, Robert D. Bushong; and
grandsons, S. Alexander Molnar and Alec J. Bushong. He served in the Navy
during the Korean War and retired from the Daniel Corp., in 1995. He was a
member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing.
He was an active member of the Oak Forest Hunt Club in Cumberland County,
Va., for many years. He was a native of New Market, Va. Graveside services
will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in New Market, Va., on Thursday,
October 15, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial
contributions be sent to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 7757 Chippenham Pkwy.,
Richmond, Va., 23225. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 14,
from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, Va.,
23113. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Theis Funeral Home,
9377 N. Congress Street, New Market, Va., 540-740-3312.

Jack Nolan "Taters" Javner, 66, of Walland, Tennessee, and
South Range, Wisconsin, died Friday, October 7, 2005,
surrounded by his family at his daughter's residence in South Range,
following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born December 29, 1938 in Bloomer, Wis.,
son of Victor and Lois (Anderson) Javner.
On June 29, 1957 he married Mary Carol Bushong, and they recently
celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.
Jack was a union pipefitter for many construction companies,
working out of Local #11 Plumbers and Pipefitters, Duluth.
His memberships included Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, and
Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #606, of which he was a past-governor.
Taters was the lead guitarist for the Christian musical group "Mountain
Gap".
He also loved to hike in the mountains with his good friend Charlie
Ledbetter,
and enjoyed sprint car racing and rodeo.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Norman Javner;
and grandson-in-law, Adam Beckel.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; six daughters, Melinda (Mike) Mikloczak,
Superior, Mary T. (Brian) VanHornweder, S. Range, Lisa (Roy) Warring, S.
Range, Jacqueline (Rick) Hansen, Minong, BethAnn (Glen) Spaulding, Foxboro,

Keith A. Bushong age 84, of Rhinelander, died Dec. 10, 2014. He was born Feb. 1, 1930 In Mellen to Garret and Alvina (Sorel )Bushong.
Keith is survived by his wife Rose, his two daughters Tina Bushong and Anita Bushong, both of Rhinelander; three sons, Brian (Kelly) and Jeff (JoAnne Breunig) of Rhinelander and Brad (Melinda) of Gilbert, Ariz.; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Michelle, two brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service for Keith will be held on Friday, Dec. 19 at noon at the Carlson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be in the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. A memorial is being established in Keith's name and can be directed to his family. (Carlson Funeral Home)

John R. Bushong, age 88, of Rhinelander, died on Dec. 24, 2008 in
Rhinelander. He was born on July 16, 1920 in Mellen to Garrett and Alvina (Sorel)
Bushong. He met his wife, the former Shirley Henke, in Mellen and they were
married on Oct. 16, 1948 and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
John served in the U.S. Army during World War II and upon his honorable
discharge he returned to Rhinelander. He was employed by the Rhinelander Paper
Company until retiring in 1982. John also worked at the Rouman Drive-In Theatre
and was known as the "Ticket Man."
He loved hunting, trout fishing, playing Sheepshead and spending time at his
cabin in Mellen. He liked collecting coins and looking for bargains at
rummage sales and auctions. John is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Rhinelander;
his five children, Dawn Larson, Gary (Mary) Bushong, Lori Bushong, Terry
Bushong and Jackie (Rich) Martin, all of Rhinelander; 10 grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; his brother; Keith (Rose) Bushong of Rhinelander; his two
sisters; Mary Carol Javner and Bridget (Richard) Peters; nieces, nephews and
many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gordy; and his sisters,
Gail and Nancy. A private remembrance will be held by his family at a later
date. The Carlson Funeral Home (369-1414/www.carlsonfh.com) is handling the

MELLEN -- Gordon D. Bushong, 75, of Mellen, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland. He was born June 9, 1923, in Mellen, the son of Garrett and Alvina (Sorel) Bushong. On Nov. 12, 1948, he was married to Geraldine Kritz. He was a life resident of the Mellen area, and was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and telling stories. He took great pride in his beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. Gordon was a World War II veteran, serving in the South Pacific. He was employed at the Penokee Veneer Plant in Mellen and also as a logger for 25 years. He is survived by seven daughters, Dana (Randy) Westberg, Green Bay; Jean (Jim) Pepard, Nimrod, Minn.; Jody (Steve) Buffo, Wood Dale, Ill.; Marie (Jeff) Barnum, Mellen; Joan Gertz, Mellen; Susan Bushong, Mellen, and Sharon Beil, Glidden; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Keith and John; and two sisters, Mary and Bridgette. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine; a daughter, Jayne; and two sisters, Nancy and Gail. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. Memorial Funeral Mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Mellen, with Fr. Gerald Hagen as celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Mellen Union Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Novitzke Funeral Home in Mellen.

Charles Albert Bushong, 66, of Silver Point, Tenn., died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tenn.
He was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Glasgow, Ky., the son of Birdie and Vera Logsdon Bushong.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Sue Bushong of Baxter, Tenn.; two sons, Charles Allen Bushong of Columbus and Benjamin Bushong of Melbourne, Fla.; two daughters, Carla Horald of Mississippi and Scarlett Lee Bushong McAdams of Columbus; four stepsons, Robert Stancil of Cookeville, Randy Stancil of New Hampshire, Joey Stancil of Bowling Green, Ky., and Micheal Stancil of Bradenton, Fla.; one step daughter, Angela Sue Club of Silver Point, Tenn.; three brothers, Glen Bushong of Brooksburg, Danny Bushong of Madison and Jerry Bushong of Filmore; three sisters, Velma Manning of Danville, Barbara Johnson of Lexington and Rose Wynn of Commiskey; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service and burial were Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Pleasant View Cemetery.
