Anita Lynn Bushong, age 50 of Rhinelander, died Saturday, April 7, 2018. She was Born June 25, 1967, in Rhinelander to Keith and Rose (Kaseno) Bushong.

Anita is survived by her mothe,r Rose; sister, Tina; three brothers, Brian, Jeff (JoAnne Breunig ) and Brad (Melinda); nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives, friends and caregivers. She was preceded in death by her father and an infant sister, Michelle.

A memorial service for Anita will be held on Friday, April 13, at 1 p.m. with Father Randy Knauf officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service, both at the Carlson Funeral Home.

Anita Lynn Bushong, age 50, of Rhinelander, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on April 7, 2018. She was the youngest of 6 children, born to Keith and Rose (Kaseno) Bushong on June 25, 1967 at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.

Anita grew up in Rhinelander and graduated from the Rhinelander High School in 1985. She earned her degree in Hospitality Management from the UW-Stout, and began her career managing multiple hotel properties in Minneapolis, MN. On March 8, 1999, she suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury in a car accident, leaving her paralyzed. Anita became an inspiration for many, through her courage, sense of humor, generosity, caring and positive outlook on life.

Anita was both an avid participant and fan of many sports, with a special affection for playing softball in her youth. An extreme fan of the Cubs and Packers, she rarely missed a game. She dearly loved her dogs Cassie and Shelby, who provided her with comfort and companionship from the time of her injury. Most of all, she loved being with her family and friends.

Anita is survived by her mother Rose, her sister Tina, her three brothers, Brian, Jeff (JoAnne Breunig ) and Brad (Melinda); nieces Beth, Sarah, Angela, Carrie and Samantha; nephews Chad, Brett, Will, Hayden and Sam; 5 great nephews; 3 great nieces; numerous cousins, friends and caregivers. She was preceded in death by her father and an infant sister Michelle.

A memorial service for Anita will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Carlson Funeral Home with Father Randy Knauf officiating.
