VIRGINIA ALICE JONES
1 April 1922 - 13 May 2013



Virginia was born 1 April 1922 in Almartha, MO. She was the youngest daughter of George* and Cora Bushong. Virginia went peacefully to her heavenly home on 13 May 2013. Virginia met and married her "Army Man" William E. Jones (Bill) in Kansas City Missouri in July 1953. Together they raised three children, David, Warner, and La Don. Virginia, being the devoted wife, travelled with Bill all over the United States while he was in the Army. They were stationed overseas twice in Germany. This was one of the favorite times of her life. She loved to talk about it. When Bill retired from the Army in 1965, they moved to Bakersfield and made it their home. Virginia was a devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and also a friend. She went out of her way to attend every function her grandchildren had. She attended their sporting events, choir concerts, school functions, church functions and anything else they wanted her to do. She attended church camp with her granddaughters every summer. I'm not sure who looked forward to it more, Virginia or her granddaughters. Virginia was a devoted Christian who attended church her whole life. She spent over 35 years attending Highland Church of Christ where she would meet the ladies who would become her lifelong friends. Together they organized everything from weddings to funerals and everything in between. She was always one of the first to arrive at church, (usually after picking up one of the older members) and always one of the last to leave. She never left a task for anyone else to finish and always took the initiative to make sure the job was done. Virginia is proceeded in death by her parents, George and Cora Bushong; her beloved "Army Man", William E. Jones; her son, Warner Allen White; her brothers, Doin, Hasten, and Leo; her sister, Retha; her son-n-law, Orville Scholl. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Scholl, her son, David Jones; her granddaughter, Tammy Patterson; her granddaughter and husband, Melissa and Donnie Britt; grandsons, Allen and Clinton White; great grandchildren, Jeffrey (and wife Leslie), Shelby, Kendra, Austin, Dylan, Tyler, and Emma; great, great grandchildren, Mikey, Matthew, and Hayden. Virginia was loved by everyone who knew her. She left a legacy on this earth that is carried on through the generations. She was, by far, the best grandma we could have ever asked for. Her memory will be with us forever. We love her and miss her. We will honor her by living for others, like she did. We are comforted knowing we will we meet again in heaven. Visitation for Virginia will be Monday, May 20, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M., at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary (9109 Kern Canyon Road). Services will be held in the Chapel at Hillcrest on May 21, 2013 at 10:00 A.M.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He and Nadine Roberts were married Oct. 24, 1965. Mr. Bushong retired from Dayco Industries in 1987 as a pipe fitter. He was also an electrician and plumber. Born Feb. 2, 1930, Marvin Bushong of Joshua Tree died Aug. 5, 2007. He was 77 years old.
A native of Missouri, he lived in California for 60 years and in Joshua Tree for 30 years.
Mr. Bushong was a parts delivery driver for CarQuest for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda Bushong, daughters Flo Vittitoe and Kris Grigsby and son Jesse Vittitoe, all of Joshua Tree, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A service will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 11 at 62718 Aberdeen Drive in Joshua Tree.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ola Agnes Bushong, 70, Brixey, were held
Saturday in Smith Chapel Church of Christ with Harlan Howerton officiating.
Burial was in the Smith Chapel Cemetery under the direction of the
Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Mrs. Bushong died last Wednesday in Cox Medical Center, Springfield,
after a short illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Brixey and a member of the Church of
Christ.
Surviving are her husband, Floyd; two sons, William, of Willard, and
Kenneth, of Brixey; a sister, mrs. Inez Irby, Concord, California; four

Obituary
Herbert Wayne Bushong of Cleveland, OK 86, entered eternal life on September 19, 2020 in Tulsa, OK. He was born Sept 9, 1934 in Mayes County, OK to John and Jessie Bushong.

He was currently married to Evelyn Rosetta Bushong for 44 years, spending 42 years in Casper, Wy and the last 2 years in OK. He was married to his first wife Jessie Davis for 22 years.



He attended school in and around Chelsea, OK. He attained numerous certificates and training from various colleges depending on where he lived.



He spent 8 ½ years in the US Army specializing in personnel and later ground to air missiles. His career was in the oilfield submersible pump industry and finally working overseas in Dubai U.A.E. Kuwait, Western Siberia Russia, Egypt and Indonesia. He would tell amazing stories about the people he worked with and all the new friends he met from all over the world



He loved his fishing trips, hunting, camping and 4 wheeling in the mountains with family and friends. He loved living in the country, raising horses and gardening. He was also a Jack of all Trades when it came to building or repairing anything. He was a member of the North Platte Walleye Club for many years and also a life member of the NRA.



He was preceded in death by his parents John and Jessie Bushong.

He is survived by his spouse Rosetta, daughter Tracy (Randy) Elledge of Cleveland, OK; sons: Kenneth (Carla) Bushong of Casper, WY; Richard (Beverley) Bushong of Leduc, Alberta, Canada, James (Nancy) Bushongof Oologah, OK. 8 grandchildren, Koltaen, Bregane, Braxton and John Bushong, Tristan Hack,Jessie Hunter, Rebecca David, and Renee Stone along with 6 great grandchildren, and numerousnieces and nephews. A brother John (Kathy) Bushong of Federal Way, WA, and sister Betty Johnson of Boise, ID



A memorial service will be held in WY next summer. Details next spring.

Dessie Little Bushong was born on 29 September 1888. She and John Jenkins were married. She died in August 1944, at age 55.

Her married name was Dessie Little Jenkins. Daughter of Samantha's by former marriage, surname is Little.

John Jenkins was born in 1883. He and Dessie Little Bushong were married. He died in 1964, at age ~81.

William Alexander Haney was born on 20 July 1884 in Texas. He and Geneva Burch Bushong were divorced. He and Geneva Burch Bushong were married on 1 January 1910 in Ozark County, Missouri. He died in 1944, at age ~60, in Orr, Love County, Oklahoma. He was buried in Crow Cemetery, Orr, Love County, Oklahoma.

I am looking for information on William A. Haney who was born around 1883 in Texas. I think he later moved to Ok. He was married to Geneva Burch Bushong in Nocona Texas but then left her. He was a farmer. Stone photo present
