Mrs. Ivah[sic] Huffman, 71, died at 5:05 a.m. Saturday at her home, 8120 S. Nebraska St.

She was a life resident of Marion and vicinity and was the widow of Jacob Huffman. Mrs. Huffman was a member of the Adams Street Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Opal Craig, Mrs. Otis Banter and Mrs. Nolan Vanness; once son, Eugene; two brothers, Jonathon Brown and William Brown; one sister, Mrs. H. L. Murch, all of Marion; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at 2722 S. Washington St. after 2 p.m. today. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Adams Street Christian Church with the pastor, the Rev. James McClain, officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery[sic Estates of Serenity].

Georgia M. Van Ness, 74, 720 E. Charles Road, Marion, died at 7:12 p.m. Thursday in Columbia Brandon Regional Hospital, Brandon, Fla.

Mrs. Van Ness was a life resident of Marion. She spent the winters in Thonotosassa, Fla. She was a Marion High School graduate. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Nolan; four sons, Wayne LeRoy, Lagro, Jacob Francis [Jake] and Donald Eugene [Donnie], both of Marion, and Michael David [Mike], Thonotosassa, Fla.; three daughters, Velma Darlene [Darlene/Woody] Knipp of Thonotosassa, Fla., and Wilma Jean, of Thonotosassa, Lakeland, Fla., and Wanda Mae Reed, Seffner, Fla.; 19 grandchildren;and many great grandchildren.

Nolan V. Van Ness, 83, 720 E. Charles Road, died at 1025-10:30 a.m. Thursday in the The Arbors, Brandon, Fla.
Nolan Van Ness was born in Wells County. He was a long time Marion resident. Since 1977, he had spent winters in Florida. He was a 1931 graduate of Marion high School. He married Georgia Van Ness. She died in 1996. He was a truck driver for Commercial Motor Freight of Indiana. He was a member of Teamster's Union Local 135.

Survivors include four sons, Wayne, Lagro and Jacob, Donald and Michael, all of Marion; three daughters, Darlene Knipp, Thonotosassa, Fla.; Wanda Reed, Plant City, Fla., and Wilma, Lakeland, Fla.; one brother, Orville, Englewood, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

It has come to my attention that this website has not been updated lately when we have lost a dear relative. Billie Bob was the first one of 2021. We miss this sweet cousin dearly. Picture below is one from a reunion a few years ago.

Billie Bob Kiser Bushong (98) of Lewisville, TX passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15th, 2021 from cancer. Billie spent her 98 1/2 years serving the Lord well and investing in her family. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren fondly referred to her as “Memaw” and “Honey”, and could always count on her dry wit to keep them laughing and her warm heart to exude southern charm. Billie could always be found enriching the lives of others by serving as a Pink Lady in the Odessa hospital, leading multiple groups at church in Brownwood, serving as an Eastern Star, volunteering at the food bank and cooking in the kitchen at the Baptist Encampment. She very much enjoyed quilting in her quilting circle and sharing her work as gifts to others, and spending time with her wonderful group at First Baptist of Lewisville. Billie was a strong rock for her family over the years and was known to use her incredible gift of baking to show them all her love. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Carol Turman of Lewisville, her grandson, William Turman and wife Linda, granddaughter, Karen Mason. Honey was adored by her 5 great grandchildren; Kennah Hineman and husband Keaton, Morgan Mason, Connor Mason, Caroline Turman, and Rachel Turman, and had the joy of knowing her 2 great great granddaughters, Mason Hineman and Colbie Hineman. She also loved and is survived by her sister Mary Jones and many neices and nephews. Billie is preceded in death by her husband J.T. (Jake) Bushong, sisters Marie Nolan, Kate McSherry, Jimmie Keegan, brothers JT. Kiser, Waldo Kiser and Gene Kiser.

A service to celebrate Bill’s life was held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Lewisville. Interment followed at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas on February 8, 2021.

Rudolf R. Kurc was born in of Gladewater, Gregg County, Texas. He and Mary Elizabeth Bushong were married on 26 March 1976. He died.
