wife was Edith Sylvania Younker (1836-1877). His second wife, my great
grandmother, was Phoebe Anne Leavengood, b. December 21, 1847 - d. January 2,
1931. They were married November 29, 1877 in Blissfield, Ohio. They had two
children: Frank Wellington (1880-1956) and Ora Emmaline (1878-1964).


I have not been able to locate Simon's parents. I believe that they were
from Pennyslvania. I also have not been able to find Catherine Bushon's
parents. I am at a dead end. I would appreciate any information anyone would be
able to share."

Philip Lewis Bushong, 73, husband of Lois Riggins Bushong of 151 Coker Circle, died Monday, February 15, 2016 at his residence.

Born in Panama Canal Zone, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Adelaide Willet Bushong.

He retired as an electrician and served in the US Navy.

He was also Past Master of the Blue Lodge Dunean Lodge 357, a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and the Good News Club.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home are: daughters, Stephanie Harris of Greenville, Phylis (James) Hermés of California; Teresa Shenk of W. Virginia; son, Mark Bushong of Virginia; grandchildren, Tristan, Garrett, Dave, Trai, Taylor, Ariana, Grace Ann, Elliot and Addison; 1 great grandchild, Harrison; brother, John (Carol) Bushong of Pennsylvania.

Memorial service will be held 2:00pm Saturday at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Daryle Hawthorne officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm until 2:00pm Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital. The family will be at the residence. Cox Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
