MONROVIA, Jan. 13.---------At a prettily appointed bridge luncheon given
Tuesday, December 30, at the home of Mrs. Edith Bushong, 2424 Birch street at
Alhambra, a former popular Monrovia girl, announcement was made of the marriage
of Miss Elizabeth Bushong to Jesse Cook of Los Angeles. The wedding took
place August 2, 1930 at the Oneonta Congregational Church, with the Rev. Holland
Burr officiating. Friends of the young couple Miss Elizabeth Banks of San
Marino and William Hacker, Jr., of Pasadena witnessed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs.
Cook spent their honeymoon at Oceanside and San Diego.
Mrs. Cook is a graduate of the University of Southern California, College
of Music, and is affiliated with Mu Phi Epsilon, national music sorority;
Phi Phi, honorary fraternity, and the Honorary Music Club. Mr. Cook will
receive his degree from the University of Southern California in June, and is a
member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.

grave site at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in North Bethesda, Montgomery
County, Maryland. In the picture Elizabeth lies to the right and Lewis lies to
the left. She died on May 2, 1884 at age 66. Her inscription which is on the
back side of the memorial stone in the picture reads "Friends remember me as
you pass by, as thou art, I was once; What I am now you must be"

Lewis was my great great grandfather. He was born on May 26,1818 in
Beavertown, PA the fourth child of Solomon and Mary Keiser. At age 18 Lewis and
family moved to Uniontown, Ohio where two years later on June 2, 1838 he married
Elizabeth Bushong. They had 8 children (confirmed by Keiser family bible and
1850 Ohio Census, Stark County, Plain Twp., p. 49. Two of the 8 probably died
at an early age and were not named in the 1850 Census). They were:
Lavina (Levinia) - born April 27, 1839
Levi - born December 16, 1840
Leah - born December 17, 1841
Anna - born April 15, 1844
Eli (Elias) - born January 24, 1846
Lydia - born March 13, 1848
Cyrus - born September 10, 1851 (My ancestor)
Ephriam - born May 24, 1854

Five of their children moved with Lewis and Elizabeth to Maryland in 1874.
Lewis' first purchase in Maryland on February 13, 1875 was a farm consisting of
145 acres. He reconstructed the old house that stood there and the house
still stands and is registered on the Maryland Historic Sites Inventory. On June
1, 1876 Lewis and Elizabeth purchased a second farm containing 112 acres
which became their residence. The Census taken on June 2, 1880 shows Lewis, age
62, as a farmer as Elizabeth, age 62, as "keeping house". Elizabeth died in
1884. Lewis married a second time in 1885 but died on October 3, 1886."

To WANDA SUE CRUZ.
Petititon having been filed in this Court alleging that said minors come
within the meaning of the Probate Code Chapter 712A of the Complied Laws of
1948 as amended Section 2 (b) 1 & 2 and that said hearing may result in an
order affecting your right to custody of said children and/or terminating
your parental rights in and to said children and that said children should be
placed under the jurisdiction of this Court.
