MRS R.R. MARRS dies AT HOME OF DAUGHTER

Mrs. R. R. Marrs died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Greg Alexander Wednesday March 7, 1923, following a brief illness of the flu with pneumonia. She had recently been helping in caring for her daughter, Mrs Alexander who was seriously ill. While here she contracted her fatal illness.

Mrs Mary Marrs was one member of thirteen families who came here in the spring of 1885, from Trenton Missouri..and had gone through the trials and tribulations of the early settler. She leaves to mourn her departure one brother, three sisters besides many grand children and great grand children. Interment was made at the Arnold Cemetery following is an Obituary of her life:

Mary A. Bushong daugher of John Bushong and Elizabeth Noel was born at Shelbyville, Indiana May 19, 1851, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs Greg Alexander near Arnold, Nebraska on March 7, 1923, age 71 years, 9 months, 16 days.

Miss Bushong was united in marriage to R.R. Marrs July 2, 1871. to this union were born four girls and one boy. Millie E., Quin M., Lucy A., Augusta C. and Emma M.. These all survive if their mother except Quinn who died April 18, 1919.

Mr. and Mrs. Marrs came to Nebraska in the Spring of 1885. For many years they made their home in and around Arnold. Mr. Marrs died October 18, 1917 after which Grandma lived on her property in the south part of Arnold. She had been an untiring worker all her life. In 1870, listed with parents...

Have a copy of her obituary. It says she came to Nebraska in the spring of 1885 and lived in and around Arnold. After husbands death she lived on property south part of Arnold. (Copy of obituary, page 118, Volume 1.)
