Her parents along with cousin Andrew Bushong and family then moved north across the state line onto Gilbert Road in Amboy Twp., Hillsdale Co., Michigan. Harrison at the southeast corner of Hartley and Gilbert, and Andrew at the northeast corner of Buckeye & Gilbert. As Ida's death cert. states she died of blood poisoning. That was a result of getting a cactus thorn in her thumb, not getting it all out before it became infected. Cary and Ida were building a new house on Tripp Road around the corner from his parents, and grandparents at the time of her death. Cary then married Lucy Entrikin. Cary & Ida were my great grandparents. My grandparents and my parents also lived the majority of their lives o1 mile further south on Tripp Road. Harrison Bushong's place on Gilbert was 1 mile east of my parents.

The death date of 5 Sept 1896 is found on the State of Michigan Records which are on LDS. Those records were hand copied and sent to the state from the courthouse in Hillsdale. The record at the courthouse states 8 Sept 1896, the article calculates to the 8th, the gravestone reads the 8th, and I just checked the family bible for Cary and Ida, and it also reads 8th. Quite frequently I have discovered the courthouse records not matching what was eventually written into the books at the state. Mrs. Carey Burt of Ransom met peculiar and painful death Tues. evening. Last week while attending flowers she was pricked on little finger by a leaf of a cactus plant. Next day the hand began to swell and pain, blood poisoning having set in. She endured most excruciating pain during the brief illness. She was wife of the nephew of MATT BURT of this city and was 33 yrs. old.

DOROTHY BUSHONG ROBBINS

Dorothy Louise “Dot” Bushong Robbins left this life to be with Jesus on 5 June 2013. Dot was born 29 December 1924 in Papalote to Lucy Lenore West and Virgil Cisero Bushong.
She attended Papalote Elementary School and graduated from Incarnate Word in Corpus Christi. Dot met her husband to be, Burney C. Robbins, in Corpus Christi. Burney followed her when her family moved to Austin and whisked her away 7 January 1942 for an impromptu wedding in Austin. The newlyweds put their life on hold when Burney was drafted for World War II and served the Air Force. Dot was termed a ‘favorite Aunt’ by so many nieces and nephews she doted on and created special memories with. After 13 years of marriage, Dot’s prayers were answered and she was blessed with a boy, Kim Lewis Robbins in 1955, the true love of her life. Dot devoted her life to her family as her husband pursued a career with Halliburton. They settled their home in Pleasanton and Dot took up painting, a true passion that soothed her soul. She loved painting, especially with oils and watercolors, and lovingly gifted numerous pieces to her family members. After her husband retired from Halliburton, they frequently traveled with other couples, often relatives, as well as good friends. Hawaii, New England and Muldoon, were favorite destinations. Dorothy loved their annual tradition of entertaining friends and family in Port Aransas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, her son and two brothers, Bobby and Howard Bushong.
She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Simpson of Ft. Worth, her brother, Glendon Bushong of Corpus Christi and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers are Rob Robinson, Corey Cole, Mike Robbins, Ron Roggenbuck, Frank Beck, Mike Featherling, Mitch Robbins and Riley Robbins.
Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Sunday, 9 June 2013 from 2 - 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Pleasanton, 10 June 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Muldoon at Pittman Cemetery. She was married to Charles Bushong at Watson, Missouri in December, 1886. To this union were born seven children, two dying in infancy. Her husband passed away in 1921.
She came with her parents to Hamburg, Iowa, when five years of age and lived there until the family moved to Belvidere. She is the last member of her family to meet her Maker.
She is survived by her children, Harry and Bessie at home, Ada Bowen of Hebron, Ralph of Monroe, Wash., and Edith Coordsen of Gilead; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at the Belvidere Christian Church, with burial in the Belvidere Cemetery.

MRS. DRUSILLA H. BUSHONG
Mrs. Drusilla Helen Bushong, widow of Rev. Charles A. Bushong, died at
Riggs Cottage Sanatorium at 2 o'clock Friday morning after a long illness.
She was 83 years old.
Mrs. Bushong was born near New Market, a daughter of the late John S.
and Drusilla Ramsburg. She was a member of Evangelical Reformed Church and
Sunday School many years. About twelve years ago she resided in Frederick,
having moved from Baltimore after the death of her husband, Rev. Bushong who
was an Evangelical and Reformed minister. She is survived by the following
nieces and nephews: Elias B. Ramsburg, Jr. and J. Richard Ramsburg, both of
Frederick; John Stephen Ramsburg and Mrs. Lawrence Gourley, both of
Washington; Mrs. William T. Mathers, Frederick; Mrs. James J. Robb, Columbia,
South Carolina; and Mrs. George Jolliffe, Baltimore.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the
funeral home, 8 East Patrick Street. Rev. Paul L. Althouse, pastor of the
Evangelical Reformed Church, was the officiating clergyman.
Casket bearers were Elias B. Ramsburg Jr., J. Richard Ramsburg, William
T. Mathers, John S. Ramsburg, Laurence Gourly and George Jolliffe.
Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, C. E. Cline and Son, funeral directors.

Minnie B. Bushong was born on 15 September 1865 in Virginia. She died on 21 December 1933, at age 68. She was buried in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Loudoun County, Virginia.
