Rex E. Babcock, 51, of Findlay, went home to be with the Lord at 2:50 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
He was born on April 25, 1961 to Ned F. Babcock Sr. and Reta D. (Bushong) Marvin in Findlay, OH. He married Marjorie J. Shue on June 29, 1991 and she survives.
He is also survived by his mother, Reta Marvin of Sneads, FL; one son, Rex Babcock II of Findlay and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ned F. Babcock, Sr. and his brother, Ned Babcock, Jr.
Rex was a semi-truck owner/operator. He was a member of the Upper Room Church of God. Rex was an avid motorcycle rider and spent many hours riding his Harley ElectraGlide and his 1999 Indian Chief. He had a generous heart and would always donate his time and money to various motorcycle ride charities.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Upper Room Church of God, Findlay. Visitation will be held one hour (10:00-11:00 a.m.) prior to the service. Bishop Terry McBeath will officiate and burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens Cemetery, east of Findlay. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Patient Services.
Arrangements are being handled by COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay.

1805 4 DEC A John Mitchell and wife Mary, Ross, CO, OH sold the E 1/2 of lot 159 for $50 U.S. money to Wm. Ward. Ref: Deed Book Vol. 5 p. 143-144, Ross County Recorder

1817 21 APR A Deed, dated this date, records the sale for $9.00 of the remaining portion of Inlot No. 159 to Charles Cissna of Pike County by John Mitchell of Pickaway County (one county north of Ross). This deed indicates that the lot "being justly the said Mitchell's by the heirship of his father's estate." The deed further states that the lot is "due to the said John Mitchell by the death of his father who died in Chillicothe in possession of the said lot of ground." Ref: Deed Book Vol. 14, p. 450-451 This was witnessed by John Mitchell, Margaret and Robert Scott

Lot 159 of Chillicothe, Ohio was BOUGHT by John Mitchell (no wife mentioned) of Ross County NWT in 1801 and sold 1/2 of it in 1805 by John Mitchell

In 1817 the other half was sold by John Mitchell of Pickaway Co. who INHERITED it from his father who died in Chillicothe. this was witnessed by another John Mitchell, Margaret and Robert Scott. The witness John was probably John w Rosanna, but Rosanna wasn't mentioned. I guess she wasn't there. This would mean that there were three John Mitchells if I am interpreting it right.

Lot 175 was not our property but was adjacent to lot 159. When sold in 1801 the sale was "executed at the property of James Mitchell." It is known that since 1795 James Mitchell owned lot 73 which was near the future courthouse.

The first courthouse was not built until 1808.
