GEORGE L. BUSHONG
George L. Bushong, 90, of Pickwick Road, DeWitt, died Saturday at St.
Joseph's Hospital Health Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey and moved to Syracuse in 1940
from Philadelphia. Pennsylvania.
He retired in 1984 as director of purchasing for the G. A. Braun Co. of
Syracuse. Mr. Bushong previously worked for the Lenox Furnace Co. in
Syracuse. In 1991 he wrote and published a children's book titled, "Where's
Doopey?" that was based on his daughter's childhood.
Mr. Bushong was a tournament Bridge player and a communicant of Holy
Cross Church. He was a member of the Cavalry Club.
Surviving are his daughter Bonnie Jeanne Haley of San Antonio, Texas;
and one grandson Kevin Patrick Haley of San Antonio. Texas.
Services are 10 AM Wednesday at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt. Burial is in
White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to Unity Acres, Box 153, Orevell 13426. Fairchild and Meech DeWitt Chapel is handling arrangements. United States Census, 1930 for Nora Bushong

My husband's greatgrandmother, Mary Louise Bushon (of French Dutch descent) married Edward Hill, in Chillicothe Ohio circa 1900. They had several daughters Mary Louella, (my husband's grandmother who married Abdul Rahaman), Virginia, Wanda, the others I can't remember their names, and 1 son Edward Jr. Most of their descendants live in the central Ohio area. He must have been very light skinned as he past off as white in some
censuses and gave various places of birth. He was born in Tennessee.
