MARJORIE ROBERTA BUSHONG

(18 January 1925 - 5 December 2015)

Marjorie Roberta Bushong, age 90, left Parkview Noble Hospital to be
with Jesus 5th December 2015. She was born on 18 January 1925 to Leroy
M. and Mable I. (Bause) Hontz on the family farm near Cromwell, IN. On
Easter Sunday, 9 April 1944 she married Emerson Bushong at the family
farm. Upon Emerson’s return from World War II, they resided at the
family farm near Cromwell their entire 61 years of marriage. Mrs.
Bushong was a graduate of North Webster High School and attended
Manchester College. She was a lifetime member of the Indian Village
E.U.B. Church- Indian Village United Methodist Church where she was
very active in the music ministry, playing piano and organ for 70 years
at church services and also served in other capacities. She was a
former member of the Washington Township Homemaker’s Club as well as
serving on various other county committees. Her children, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren were loved very much by her. She is survived by
a daughter, Sasha Hively of Kimmell, a son, Daniel Bushong of Cromwell,
a daughter, Sharon Gerig of Shipshewana, and a son, Stephen Bushong of
Churubusco. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Ingrid (Brad)
Kohlhagen, Lukus Hively, Les (Amy) Hively, Trent (Mary) Gerig, Tiffany
(Chad) Bender, Stefanie (Jason) Brown, Scott (Rachel) Bushong and
Stacie (Matthew) Gensic; thirteen great-grandchildren, Bo, Bree and
Beth Kohlhagen, Cole, Kara and Connor Hively, Kaela, Jacob, Andrew,
Mia, and Levi Gerig, Makenna and Colton Bender and Evan, Isaac, and
Emerson Bushong, and Jackson Brown. Mrs. Bushong was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband, Emerson Bushong; an infant brother,
Herbert Hontz; and a son-in-law, Thomas Joe Hively. A funeral service
will be held in Marjorie’s honor on Thursday 10 December 2015 at 11 AM
at Yeager Funeral Home; 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767.
Pastor Diana Siegel will officiate. Burial will follow at Sparta
Cemetery in Kimmell, IN. Family and friends will be received from 4-8
PM on Wednesday 9 December 2015 at Yeager Funeral Home. Memorial

11, 2008. She was born in Locust Grove, GA, to the late Charles W. and
Katherine Cloud Glass Coan, Sr. Mrs. Bushong was also preceded in death by her
husband, Ralph L. Bushong; sisters, Sara C. Champion, Jane C. Gardner;
brother, Charles W. Coan, Jr.; and son-in-law, Harry L. Branan. She was a
member of First United Methodist Church. McDonough. Mrs. Bushong is survived by
her daughters, Kay (Harold) Branan, McDonough, GA, and Annelle Branan,
McDonough, GA; grandchildren, Allan (Julie) Branan, Steven (Jane) Branan, Lee
(Sherry) Branan, Renae (Mike) Burch; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Nell
C. Castellaw, Locust Grove, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be held at 3PM on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at First United
Methodist Church, McDonough with Rev. Dana Everhart, officiating. Interment will

Keith J. Bushong, 81, of Spencer, passed away at Owen Valley Health Campus Tuesday, April 10, 2012. He was born in Anderson, IN on September 28, 1930 to Norman and Kathryn (Comstock) Bushong. He was a graduate of Anderson High School. He served in the United States Army. Keith worked for Delco Remy as a machinist. He was a member a member of the Owen County Amateur Radio Association and enjoyed gardening and bee keeping.

Mr. Bushong is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Lou (Wilcoxon) Bushong, a son, Mark Bushong of Carmel, two daughters, Rebecca (Chad) Mobley of Vincennes, and Kay (Brad) Ogle of North Carolina, a brother, David Bushong, three sisters, Margaret Williamson, Phyllis Estelle, and Gail Morse, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alice Beemish and Norma Shanahan.
