FALL IS FATAL
The intense sufferings of Miss Catherine Bushong ended Sunday morning at 10
o'clock when she passed away at the home of her nephew, William Tombaugh,
one mile west of Williamstown. She was 74 years of age and never married.
One week ago last Tuesday she slipped and fell on the ice and sustained a
broken hip. The shock of the fall was so great that she never thoroughly
rallied from it and despite all that was done for her, the seriousness of her
condition increased until death relieved it. She suffered greatly and death
was indeed a blessed relief. Miss Bushong was a life long member of the
Eagle Creek Dunkard Church. She was a quiet woman with many lovable traits of
character and all held her in high esteem. She is an aunt of former
sheriff, Ira Bushong. The funeral took place Tuesday from the Eagle Creek Church,
the Rev. Englemire officiating with burial in the adjoining cemetery. No. 86
