ELIDA -- Funeral services for Jerry E. Bushong, 35, of Elida, wi ll be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Li ma, the Rev. Charles Denny officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park C emetery, Lima.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bushong died at 11 p.m. Saturday at St. Rita's Medical Center, Li ma. His death is being investigated by Allen County Coroner Dr. Willi am T. Wright.
He was born July 12, 1957 in Lima to Max E. and Loretta (Collins) Bus hong. His mother and stepfather, Loretta and Melvin Nomina, survive in De lphos.
Also surviving are a son, Jermey of Lima; a sister, Cindy A. Bushon g, Elida; a stepsister, Mrs. Greg (Sue) Craghead, Fort Wayne, Ind.; a nd a step-grandmother, Monica Nomina, Delphos.
Mr. Bushong was employed 12 years as a lineman for the United Telepho ne Co.

I believe that Huna, probably Hana after her mother, is the daughter of Jacob and Hannah. There is a transcript of a Bible record, missing Hana, appears in error. Possibley the names were added in from memory - there are others in census records that aren't on the list. Hana died in Virgina, from this findagrave memorial. Jacob and Hannah later move to Ohio, but from Hannah's father's estate court records, Jacob and Hannah were living in Virginia as of the 29th day of November 1824...

Jean M. VanFleet Bushong, 88, of Findlay, died at 1:20 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Birchaven
Retirement Village. Jean was born on August 18, 1920 in Fostoria, Ohio to the late Parl and Helen (Hall) McGahey. She married James B. VanFleet on August 21, 1943 and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1991. From that marriage came two children, James M. (Mary) VanFleet of Westerville, Ohio; and Barbara J. (Robert) Aumiller of Chesterfield, Missouri; two granddaughters, Melanie (Carl) Wardenburg, Kristin (Jeremiah) Pappas, and four great-grandchildren, Alec, Wes and Dylan Wardenburg and Madison Pappas. Also surviving is a brother, Robert McGahey of Jamestown, North Carolina. Jean attended Findlay College and then The Ohio State University. Later in life she received her B.A. in Education from the University of Findlay. Jean was a homemaker and taught third grade at Arcadia School for ten years. On November 30, 1996 she married James W. Bushong and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2007. Surviving are stepchildren, James R.C. (Susie) Bushong, Santa Maria, CA; David W. (Herminie) Bushong, New Zealand; Christine (Bruce) Tichenor, Findlay; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Jean's memberships included, P.E.O. Sisterhood, Meridian, Town and Campus, Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary, First Presbyterian Church, and was a long time member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. Jean's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking and reading. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church,
with the Rev. Dan Hrach, officiating. A private interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Findlay-Hancock Co. Public Library, 206 Broadway, Findlay, OH 45840 or to the charity of the donor's choice. Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
