DEATH OF MRS. AREHART AT HAWKINSTOWN HOME
Sunday morning Oct. 19 at 2:50 o'clock the spirit of Mrs. Emma
Elizabeth Arehart, beloved wife of Mr. Jesse P. Arehart of near Hawkinstown, bade
adieu to the tabernacle of clay which had been its abode for 54 years, 5
months and 19 days, the period of her earthly life, and was borne away, we
believe, by the guardian angel of God to the celestial city to abide in a home
of pure delight "where saints immortal reign" until re-united with the body
again when the new heaven and the new earth shall be evolved, which shall
be the abode of the redeemed of the Lord forever.
For seven long weeks she had a raging case of typhoid fever and finally
when that began to subside, her heart gave way and the fond hopes of her
dear ones and many friends were blighted and she calmly and sweetly her life
away just before her accustomed time of rising as the Sabbath day began to
dawn. But she arose to a more blessed Sabbath, one that shall never end.
The spreading of the news of her departure was truly the spreading of a
shadow of gloom and sadness over the community in which she dwelt and about
Timberville, where the early part of her life was spent and where she was so
well and favorably known.
She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church in which she
faithfully and gladly served the Lord and willingly sacrificed for the glory of His
name. She was the mother of one married daughter, Mrs. Thomas Grandstaff and
a little son about 9 years old. These with her husband and several
brothers and sisters have in her removal sustained a loss greater than words can
express and only hearts can feel.
She was the daughter of the late Abram Bushong, a family noted for its
sterling worth and fidelity.
On Monday October 20 at 1 p.m. a brief service was held in the sorrow
stricken home and the body was conveyed to Rader Lutheran church near
Timberville, where the interment was made and the mound was literally covered
with the most beautiful flowers. The funeral was preached by the pastor, Rev.
J. P. Stilwell, D. D., Rev. W. L. Darr pastor of Salem Lutheran church with
which they worship in the home community, assisting in the services, the
spacious church being filled with sympathizing friends and relatives.

MRS. WAYMIRE DIES TODAY AT ALEXANDRIA HOME

ALEXANDRIA --- Mrs. Margery , 48, wife of Virgil Waymire, died at
5:30 a.m. today at the family home, 515 W. Washington Street, after a
lingering illness. She was born 6 February 1911, the daughter of Clarence and
Belle Hood Bushong, in Alexandria and had resided here all of her life. She
and Mr. Waymire were married in 1931 at Frankton.
Mrs. Waymire was a member of Joyce Chapel Methodist Church and the WSCS
there, the Rebekah Lodge at Gilman, where she was a past noble grand, and
the Beulah Park Home Economics Club.
Surviving are the husband, a daughter, Mrs. Billy O' Brien, Alexandria;
a sister, Mrs. Ralph Marsh of Anderson; a brother, Ottie Bushong of
Alexandria, and two nieces.
Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Sunday at the Carl M. Kyle
Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Joyce
Arthur of De Soto. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery here.

Ottie Leon Bushong was born on 20 February 1915 in Madison County, Indiana. He died on 4 December 1994, at age 79, in Madison County, Indiana. He was buried in Park View Cemetery, Alexandria, Madison County, Indiana.
