Ardyth R. Bushong, 88, of West Toledo, passed away 21st September 2003, in Arbors of Sylvania. Ardyth was born in Paulding, Ohio. She had been a tour guide for the former Toledo Trust, downtown and worked as a sale associate for the former Lion Store. Ardyth was a longtime member of Collingwood United Methodist Church and was Past Worthy Matron of Ft. Industry Chapter #391, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Highland Meadows Country Club where she was an avid golfer, having been a member of the Women's Golf League, competing in local tournaments and scoring two holes in one. Her main focus was her family and she is survived by her loving husband, Claude E. Bushong; son Jared (Linda) Bushong; daughter-in-law Jean Bushong; sister-in-law Jean Jackson; grandchildren; Jeff Bushong, Jerilyn Mapes, Jana Bushong, Jennifer Henderson, Joel Bushong, Penn Bushong, Jennifer Wilson and Kelly Christianson and 7 great grandchildren. Ardyth was preceded in death by her son Reed Bushong and grandson Rhett Bushong.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 pm at the Boyer VanWormer Scott Funeral Home, 5055 Secor Road (North of Laskey) where Ft. Industry Chapter #391. OES services will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 am in the mortuary. Interment Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family prefers tributes be made to Collingwood United Methodist Church or Ft. Industry Chapter #391, OES.

She is preceded in death by her husband Owen Laing of Washington, DC. Mary was born on December 14, 1919 in Washington, DC. She was one of four children born to John Robert William and Willie Bushong. She graduated in 1938 from Eastern High School in Washington, DC. After her marriage in 1939, Mary relocated to Prince George's County, MD. She was employed as Guidance Office Secretary at Francis Scott Key Junior High where she was beloved by both students and staff. Mary was a long time resident of Heritage Harbour where she made many friends, was an avid golfer, Bridge enthusiast, accomplished artist and devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Mary was very much loved and will be greatly missed.
