Worley R. Lane, 78, 554 Dale St., died Sunday [ 9/30/1956 ] at 5:35 a.m. at Holston Valley Community Hospital after a short illness.

He was born and raised in Sullivan County on the Bloomingdale Road, and was an employee of Holliston Mills, having worked there for the past 30 years.

He was a member of the Vermont Methodist Church .

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Addie Bushong Lane , Kingsport ; one son, Harold Lane , Kingsport ; one daughter, Mrs. N. R. Alvis, Kingsport .

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Vermont Methodist Church . The Rev. Dale Bettinger and the Rev. Troy Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jack Lilly, Arthur Rhoton, Grady Winegar, F. C. Shipley, Gordon Blakely, Fred Jones, A. H. Carr and Clyde Neeley.

The body will be removed to the home at 2 p.m. Monday from Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and will lie in state one hour before services.
