Note: I don't know for sure if the 1086 was Walchelin's bir th year, or an indicator that he held Radbourne in Domesday . Rosie Bevan certainly displayed the date as if it was hi s birth year. Walchelin (Walkelin) of Radbourne had person sources.²

In three years afterwards, his lordsh ip was present with other peers when that formal curse wa s denounced in Westminster Hall with bell, book, and candle , against the violators of Magna Carta; in which year he fo unded the church of the Friars Augustines, in Broad-street , within the city of London. In the great contest between t he king and his barons, this nobleman fought for the latte r at Evesham, where he was taken prisoner, but hedid not l ong continue in bondage for we find him soon after again i n favour and receiving new grants from the crown.
