His widow was given th e manors of Stebbing and Woodham to hold in tenancy till he r dower was assigned, 20 January 1287/8, and she had liver y of these manors, which the King had assigned to her as do wer, 18 April following. Sir William de DOUGLAS abducted he r from the manor of Ellen la Zusche at Tranent, co. Hadding ton, before 28 January 1288/9, at which date the Sheriff o f Northumberland was, in consequence, ordered to take his l andsinto the King's hand, and to arrest and imprison him : an order repeated, 14 April 1289. He was imprisoned in Le eds Castle, Kent, but was released on 15 May 1290, and hi s said lands-the manor of Fawdon---were restored to him, pr ovisionally, 24 May following. The marriage of Alianore wa s granted to him, for a fine of £100, 18 February 1290/1. H e was arrested for failing to give hostages in connection w ith a pardon granted him in July 1297, and, on 12 October f ollowing, was sent to the Tower, where he died before 24 Ja nuary 1298/9. After his death, the lands which Alianore ha d held indower from her 1st husband (which had been take n into the King's hand by reason of the rebellion of Willia m de Duglas, were restored to her, those in England 24 Janu ary 1298/9, and those in Scotland 22 July 1302. She married , 3rdly, before 6 October 1305, Sir Williarn BAGOT, of Hid e and Patshull, co. Stafford, and was living, his widow , 3 May 1326. She was buried in Dunmow Priory. Biography

Philip de Braose was born in 1075 in Bramber, Sussex, England. He died in 1135, at age ~60, in Holy Land, Jerusalem.
Philip confirmed his father's gifts to the abbey of St Flor ent in 1096. He was the first Braose Lord of Builth and Rad nor, their initial holding in the Welsh Marches. Philip re turned from the 1stCrusade in 1103. He built the Norman C hurch of St Nicolas at Old Shoreham and founded the port o f New Shoreham. His lands were confiscated by Henry I in 1 110, due to his traitrous support of William, son of Rober t Curthose, but they were returned in 1112. Philip de Braose went on 2nd Crusade and died in Palestin. Philip de Braose had person sources.1
