Mrs. William G. Houston, 85, a native of New Martinsville, died at 3:15 a.m. yesterday in the home of her son-in-law, Charles T. Ray, 1307 Quarrier St., after a long illness.

Mrs. Houston had lived in Charleston the past several years. She was the mother of Mrs. Iola Mae Ray, executive secretary of the Kanawha County Infantile Paralysis Board, who died Jan. 25, 1953.

Mrs. Houston was a member of Tiskelwah Chapter No. 45, Order of Eastern Star, Charleston White Shrine No. 7 and the Baptist Temple.

Her husband, a retired U. S. mail employe of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Co., died in 1942. There are no immediate survivors.

Service will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Barlow-Bonsall mortuary chapel. Rev. Earl W. Bloomquist of Baptist Temple will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Mrs Carrie Wise Durig, 74, prominent resident of New Martinsville,
passed away Sunday morning at 11:45 o'clock at her home, 205 Fifth street.
She was born in New Martinsville December 4 1871, a daughter of the late
William and Nancy Bushon, and was an active member of the First Baptist
church.
Surviving are her husband, Adolph Durig, seven daughter, Mrs. Ed
Schupbach, Mrs A L Schupbach, Mrs Harry Burton, Miss Margaret Durig and Miss
Delia M Durig, all of New Martinsville; Mrs Arthur Booth of Youngstown, O,
and Mrs Vinton Fitzsimmons of Proctor, W. Va, and three sons, Frank E and
George T Durig of Silver Hill, W Va., and Paul V Durig of Gerard, O.; three
sisters, Mrs Charles Durig, New Martinsville; Mrs Alice Stein, Wheeling, and
Mrs Cassie Bucher, Reno, Nev; 32 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Wharton-Ellis funeral home. Services will be held in
the First Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. The Rev
Warren Taylor, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in North View

Eldon -- Pearl A. Dugan, 87, of Eldon, died Nov. 4, 2002, at Ottumwa
Regional Health Center. She was born Dec. 29, 1914 at Wirthington, Minn. to James
and Fern Good Busselle. She married William Dugan Sept. 24, 1938 at Bethany,
MO. He preceded her in death Jan. 22, 1969. She resided at Des Moines before
moving to Eldon in 1946. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church,
Eldon for 29 years and later joined the Maranatha Faith Center, Ottumwa in 1980.
She is survived by a son Michael Dugan of Eldon; two daughters, Sharon Grant
of Trenton, MO. and Joan Smith of Okla; 11 grandchildren; ten great
grandchildren; and a brother Robert Archibald of Des Moines. She was preceded in death
by her husband and a brother, Leo Busselle.
Her body has been cremated and there will be no visitation. Graveside
services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Merle Hay Chapel Hill Gardens, Des Moines with
Rev. John Cooper officiating. Memorials may be directed to Eldon Public
Library and may be sent to Michael Dugan, 302 Water St., Eldon, Iowa 52554 or to
Kremer Funeral Home, 800 Elm St., Eldon, Iowa 52554. Kremer Funeral Home,
Eldon is in charge of arrangements."

Bernice Luella Oddy was born on 20 June 1913 in Royal, Clay County, Iowa. She and Robert Paul Bushong were married on 17 November 1934 in Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri. She died in April 1996, at age 82. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Casey, Adair County, Iowa.
